We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Morgan Wilson. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Morgan below.
Morgan, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
I feel like everything in life is a risk, honestly. Any choice you make can you lead down a path you didn’t expect but it’s all a part of YOUR journey.
Starting a business has been one of the biggest risks I’ve taken. Betting on yourself is one of the best feelings in the world, but also one of the scariest. I tell people all the time that entrepreneurship is all about mindset & how well you can pivot during adversity.
I am one of those people who just likes to start, like literally just take the first step and figure it out as you go — I’ve noticed it can be a blessing and a curse. Starting from the ground with an idea and seeing it come to fruition and continue to come to fruition is worth every mishap or doubt you had. Especially when you choose to leave your comfort zone.
And honestly, thats what I love about this life. It’s just ONE BIG RISK, a gamble and it gives me thrills. Like how can I continue to elevate and challenge myself and my business.
Morgan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Morgan, I am a Licensed Esthetician in the Atlanta area. I have my own skin studio in Alpharetta where I blend the Best of Science and Nature. I do a variety of Advanced Skin Treatments, plus Yoni Steams.
I began my entrepreneurship journey in 2018 when I started to sell 3D Mink Lash Strips, from there I got interested in Eyelash Extensions which lead me to the Esthetics field. In Esthetician school I gravitated to the formulation chapter & from there I decided to start my own skincare line, MorLush.
My products are suitable for all skin tones and types but I do tend to focus more on acne and hyperpigmentation concerns. I am also an Esthetician that believes everything is ” rooted from nature ” so I like to take a more holistic approach when providing skin solutions.
I am most proud of growth in my business thus far. I feel like everyday I unlock a new level of elevation for it. I am also most thankful for my clients and customers, without them none of the growth would be possible. I am forever grateful for anyone that trust me with their skincare and overall healthcare.
Overall, I just want people to know my passion resides in making everyone feel comfortable and confident in their own skin.
What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
It’s so crazy because in this day and age social media is key but for me it’s honestly been good ole referrals. Which I tend to love more than anything because then that means I provided an experience that you remembered and wanted to share (=
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My whole Esthetics journey illustrates my resilience. I started this journey back in October of 2018 & didn’t get officially Licensed with the state until February of 2021. That’s a 3 year GAP.
I started school then had to stop due a bad car accident in 2019. Fast forward to 2020 and dealing with a whole pandemic.
Basically, if you have a goal or your mind set on something, DO IT.
Don’t worry about the timing, just take the first step. From there you set the course in motion. Start, stop, take a break, do whatever you have to do to make it work for you but don’t ever give up when you really want it.
