Alright, Diane thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Looking back, what’s an important lesson you learned at a prior job
As a former professional model, I learned how to market as a business. Modeling is a self-promoting business, everything you are such as: physique, skin, clothing style and personality is valued when booking a job. The client is not only booking based on how good you pose but they also want someone who represents themselves with respect, integrity and confidence. Being on time, sharing meaningful conversations about yourself all help engage with clients which in the end can result in rebooking. So it is as a small business owner, Running a business who values respect, integrity and professionalism will attract clients who value the same things and feel comfortable sharing their lives with you. It’s not just a business, clients love community and enjoy building meaningful relationships.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
As a former professional model, beauty was a big part of what I represented. I have been taking care of my skin since the age of 12. My mother instilled the importance of taking care of yourself inside and out. I fell in love with skincare products and by way of my friends discovered the art of eyebrows. I would casually do my friends brows but it wasn’t until I graduated from an accredited Esthetics School as a Licensed Esthetician that I took skincare and brow artistry serious. My brand is about corrective and results driven skincare. My passion is in skincare ingredients and chemistry. I am fascinated how products provide results and help the esteem of those with skin concerns.
Brow artistry has allowed me to fulfill and enhance the natural beauty of my clients. Brows are an essential part of the face shape and symmetry. I specialize in Brow tinting, dye and lamination. A brow transformation is my staple, clients love the before and after.
Every client that walks into my business is treated with love, professionalism and respect. We listen to clients concerns and request and make sure to provide realistic results. Clients can expect personalized attention and devotion.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy is remaining consistent. Consistency is key in everything you do. At times you may feel defeated or down for whatever reason but keep plowing and sowing for in due time you will reap a harvest.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Prior to starting Amores Spa, I worked for in a position in which I was completely unhappy. I was making more money but the job began to affect my physical health due to stress. I decided my happiness and health was more important and valuable.
The idea of staring my own business was just a “thought ” not taken seriously.
I pondered on how to begin the journey and investigated how to make the thought a reality in my future.
My journey to becoming a Licensed Esthetician began with being unhappy and unfulfilled. Now I am doing a job that I love all the while reaping the fruit of hard work. My motto is “With God all things are possible.”
