We were lucky to catch up with Briana Ross recently and have shared our conversation below.
Briana, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today One of our favorite things to brainstorm about with friends who’ve built something entrepreneurial is what they would do differently if they were to start over today. Surely, there are things you’ve learned that would allow you to do it over faster, more efficiently. We’d love to hear how you would go about setting things up if you were starting over today, knowing everything that you already know.
If I were starting over, there’s honestly a lot I would do differently. I wouldn’t have been so nervous to show up online and share my expertise, and I would focus on one to three core services instead of feeling like I needed to offer everything in order to book clients. It’s important to understand your expertise, how you help your clients, the results you help them get, and what makes your services different. I realize that because I lacked clarity in these areas, it took me longer to achieve my business goals, and I felt really unorganized. Once I buckled down and focused on understanding my business, marketing became a lot easier, and I was able to attract more of my ideal clients.
Briana, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Briana, and I am a Business Coach specializing in Branding and Marketing. Over the past five years, I have been supporting women in business by helping them brand and market their businesses, all while getting organized so that they can take their businesses to the next level. This is done through 1:1 coaching and consulting services as well as done for your services.
How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
I believe creating and fostering brand loyalty starts with a great experience for the customer or client. Creating a great client experience is one of the top priorities in my business. This not only helps my clients get results, but because they love their experience, they send referrals for years to come.
Because I genuinely care about my clients and their businesses even after we’re done working together, it has made staying in touch much more natural. Depending on the project and the time since we worked together, I will touch base with old clients every month or every few months. This allows me to not only get great feedback on my services, but they have access to me to ask questions, and my brand stays top of mind. Because of this, they think of me when it’s time for a new project, or they consistently send referrals my way.
Any advice for managing a team?
I believe organization and communication are key when it comes to managing a team and maintaining high morale. I have hired different team members during my five years in business, but the team that I have built over the last year has been truly game-changing. I do believe it’s because I had a lot more clarity on the help I needed and hired an online business manager to help me get more organized in my business, so hiring became a lot easier.
