Corlis , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

I grew up in my home and witnessed domestic violence. I later experienced the same thing when I dated a particular individual. I didn’t have a safe space to release all the anger, hurt and bitterness that I was harboring in my heart. The weight of the burden became too heavy to carry. I desperately needed a way to release and BREAK FREE. Once I was able to release, I became free. I began to think of all the individuals that are walking in bondage and afraid to release their stories. I wanted to create a safe space for those that are ready to break free and live.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Corlis Nichols CEO of Breaking The Code of silence. Author, Inspirational speaker and advocate against domestic violence. My business offers individual breakthrough strategy sessions as well as group sessions for individuals that have been affected by domestic abuse.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

The hardest part is getting started and putting yourself out there. I created a plan to show up regardless of my current audience. I believe with time and consistency you will grow.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

I knew that I would get some negative feedback by sharing my story. I was prepared for the negativity and decided in the beginning that I would continue to share and move on no matter what. In spite of the adversity I continue to move forward.
