We recently connected with Mary Korobov and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Mary, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
To be remembered as a woman who loved her family and friends fiercely, who was strong, empathetic, loyal, and honest. A woman who chose her own path, and her own dreams and was always learning and growing along the way.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers?
My name is Mary Korobov and I am a lover of all things wellness, art, cooking, outdoors, and photography. I live in Dallas TX, have 2 amazing kiddos, and have been married for almost 6 years. I was working as an Insurance Broker for a little over 5 years when I became pregnant with my son in 2016. At that point, my husband and I decided that I would concentrate on raising our family instead of going back to work. I became a full-time stay-at-home mom and loved it, but it felt very lonely at times. I did not have many friends who were in the same season as me that I could lean on for support. I found myself craving community and connection.
Motherhood is a choice you make every day to put someone else’s needs and well-being ahead of your own, to teach the hard lessons, to do the right thing even when you’re not sure what that right thing is… and to give yourself grace because no mama is perfect.
After a few failed attempts, I finally got up the courage to attend a FiIT4MOM class at a local franchise when my son was 18 months old. I was a Stroller Strides client and loved it and the community so much that I got certified and began teaching Stroller Strides and Strides360. It changed my life. As corny as it might sound, I felt like I had found my calling! I credit the unique mom-success culture of FIT4MOM for helping me find a balance between motherhood and business while contributing financially to my family. I now own my own franchise to further reach #allthemoms I can, by bringing health, fitness, and community to the forefront.
FIT4MOM is the nation’s leading prenatal and postnatal fitness program, providing fitness classes and a network of moms to support every stage of motherhood. From pregnancy, through postpartum and beyond. Our fitness and wellness programs help make moms strong in body, mind, and spirit. At FIT4MOM The Colony-Lewisville, we help moms find their fit – whether that’s in fitness, motherhood, or life. Specifically, our Stroller Strides program enables moms to get out of the house and get physical activity in, with their babies and toddlers in tow. In addition to fitness, we offer a community for moms through our moms’ nights out, playgroups after class for the kiddos, and yearly chances to get involved and give back to the community.
Can you talk to us about your experience with buying businesses?
In the summer of 2020 during the pandemic, I decided to purchase a newly formed franchise called FIT4MOM The Colony-Lewisville. I made this decision for a few reasons but most importantly I felt the mothers in my area were in desperate need of community. Everything was shut down no one was filling the cups of the actual people who were keeping the world afloat. We were having to find a new routine with all the fear and anxiety the pandemic had brought.
Before I purchased and pre-pandemic, I had attended and coached at a local franchise already established until they shut down. I had found my place and my new self being a mother of 2 and I wanted more. I needed it. So after a lot of research, conversations and praying I decided to buy into FIT4MOM and create a franchise of my own.
I went through the FIT4MOM headquarters and their vetting and application process and was eventually finalized with a contract of purchase. They were amazing. With their training and support, I got all the appropriate business licenses, system setups, equipment, and insurance I need to have my grand opening and hit the ground running. It was a lot of hurry up and wait in the beginning because you get excited to start but there is so much that goes into establishing your brand you don’t think of. I wanted to be as prepared as possible going into this as I could be. They give you the tools but I had to put my heart and soul into it for it to actually work. Fast forward to today, we are growing continuously and are almost to our 2-year mark!

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Word of mouth. Point. Blank. Period. In the beginning, I planned to start with a bang and advertise all over the place. I thought that’s what needed to be done to start my brand successfully. Especially during the pandemic. Then I realized there already is so much available at your fingertips with local Facebook groups, Instagram, and other social media platforms. So instead I leaned in on word of mouth in the community. I let my hard work, reputation, and consistency be my advertisement. I made sure that all my energy went into the people investing in me, and boy did it work!
