We were lucky to catch up with Nyah Sneed recently and have shared our conversation below.
Nyah, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
What do I hope my legacy will be? I hope my legacy will be Inspiring. I want to have the type of legacy that is undeniable. When people maybe decades from now when I’m older learn about me and my story I want them to feel like they can achieve anything, I want to have the type of legacy that lives on forever.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
So a little about myself. I was born in Portland Oregon but I was raised in Georgia, I used to get bullied in school and online and my mother decided to homeschool my brother and I. As long as I can remember I’ve always wanted to be an actress but I didn’t start the journey until I was 15-16 and I started my business purposely natural when I was 17. How I got into the business. When I first started learning about natural hair and how to take care of my natural hair I used to put together products (oils, butters and herbs) things like that and people will always ask me what are you using in your hair and I will tell them I create my own things and my mother wanted me to have a business but at the time I didn’t want to. So long story short one day I’m laying in bed and I just had this desire to create my own business and I told my mother I’m ready to have my own business and things went from there. Having discipline is one of the key things I think people need to really achieve success. Being an actress and a business owner definitely requires discipline. I don’t always feel like packing orders, I don’t always feel like making the product, I don’t always feel like reading the script, but it’s not always about what you wanna do. its not about what you feel like doing, it’s what you have to do. What am I most proud of? I am most proud of myself. I’m proud that I didn’t give up on my dreams. I’m glad that I kept going with my dreams, I’m glad that overcame whatever obstacle that was in my way. I’m glad I kept pushing and praying and pushing and praying.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
Yes, I love books. If I could recommend one book it would be Think And Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
When I was 17 I got a job working at Walmart so I could fund my business.
