Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nikki Carter. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Nikki, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What sort of legacy are you hoping to build. What do you think people will say about you after you are gone, what do you hope to be remembered for?
I never thought about having a legacy until I started fully walking into my purpose. I hope my legacy inspires others to live in their authenticity and love who they are. I want people to become inspired by my words and spiritual work that encourages them to heal and believe in themselves no matter the life challenges that they have faced. When people read or hear others speak about me, I want them to be inspired to learn about their spiritual gifts, their cultural background, and how to continue to pass the guidance and wisdom down. But most importantly, to live life. Fully enjoy life and be happy. Whatever that may look like for them. Sometimes we can be afraid to walk into our purpose if not accepted through society’s lens. I want them to know I was the woman who always lived outside the box and colored outside the lines because we are genuinely creative beings when it comes to creating the life we want to live—the woman who was always loving, kind, and nurturing. They will remember my integrity when it comes to The Beauty Of Clarity.
Nikki, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m originally from Atlanta, Georgia; born and raised. I’m the owner and founder of The Beauty Of Clarity. I am an Intuitive reader, Spiritual life coach, and Energetic Healer. Growing up in the shadows of my grandmother Everliza, she taught me a lot about being a service to others, entrepreneurship, and how we can have plants as our allies. Especially when it comes to healing, my grandmother had a huge beautiful garden and a variety of plants throughout her home, and she fed the community when she could. I also watched my mother extend herself to other children. She would provide meals, clothing and nurture them as her own. They both played a significant role in my life. This was one of the reasons that inspired me to find my purpose and also to help others in my unique way. I started The Beauty Of Clarity in late 2017. I was in the middle of my spiritual awakening. I went through many phases to see what would be best aligned for my spiritual journey. After having some successful and unsuccessful moments, I made it official to remove all fears and doubts and start T.B.O.C. I’m excited to offer spiritual guidance, aromatherapy products, and energetic therapy sessions.
I help others who are embarking on their spiritual and healing journey. I provide spiritual guidance to individuals so that they can bring emotional and spiritual healing into their lives. Some people struggle with having peace and happiness in their life. I was one of those individuals. So I created a safe space to help others go from struggling with self-love, self-discovery, and self-healing to comfortable opening up, healing, growing, and developing spiritual tools to help them navigate their life journey. I use my spiritual gifts through intuitive readings, mediumship, and spiritual herbalism to provide these services so that they can make their journey more at ease. It’s gratifying to know that I can help my clients gain insight into a situation where they couldn’t get clarity—helping them to connect on a more spiritual level to make sense of where they are in the present moment spiritually and how they can move forward into healing and growth. I want my potential clients to know that here at The Beauty Of Clarity; we will nurture your spirit for healing. I will encourage you to dive deeper into trusting and expanding your capacity to heal and grow spiritually. We will work collectively to create more ways to lead you to self-discovery, authenticity, self-love, self-awareness, and acceptance.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
It was at the beginning of 2018. I was officially registering my business, The Beauty Of Clarity, with my state. I was excited but also nervous. Walking into this industry freshly new, you would love to have as many possible opportunities because you want to be successful on this entrepreneurial journey. I got a few opportunities from a few people who have been in my industry for years. I’m thinking, “Yes! This will help me with branding my business. This will help me gain clients and do what I love.” So as I’m preparing myself to take advantage of these fortunate circumstances, I noticed that some of these opportunities weren’t in alignment with who I was as an individual. Throughout life, I always found myself forcing and pushing through with a job, relationship, or project when I know I’m not fully happy. I know that I’m not being my authentic self. I would always avoid speaking up due to not wanting to deal with conflicts and being afraid to disappoint others. I knew I didn’t want to be in that space again. One day I was in my car. I had so many thoughts about if I choose not to move forward with these business offers. I remember thinking, “This may be my only chance.” Then I heard a voice say, “No, this is not meant for you to move forward with. You have to know when to walk away.” I sat in my car for another 45 minutes negotiating with myself. I was trying to change my mind about taking on these business opportunities, but my intuition was coming in heavy. I knew right then that Spirit had something else for me. So I decided to walk away. I’m happy that I did. Today, I’m happily living in my purpose. My business is thriving and growing each year. I can show up authentically and provide services to people that will help them grow and heal—working with them to create effective and meaningful changes in their life.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I think showing up as myself, Nikki helped me. Meaning showing up authentically. As business owners, when we get mentors and go to workshops and other events, we think we have to mimic things down to a T. Sometimes, this can cause us to move away from who we are and our creativity. So I try to move in the most authentic way possible while staying professional. I also offer a loving and welcoming sacred environment, whether in person or virtual, where my clients feel safe and comfortable enough to trust me to help facilitate their healing journey. I ensure my client’s experience is satisfying, and I’m providing the services they seek with integrity. It allows my clients to refer me to other individuals who are pursuing similar services. Also, I interact with other spiritual practitioners and build meaningful relationships with my peers. This helps us to network with each other.
