Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Nakia Linson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Nakia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We love asking folks what they would do differently if they were starting today – how they would speed up the process, etc. We’d love to hear how you would set everything up if you were to start from step 1 today
If I were to start over again, I would focus more serving my clients rather than servicing/selling to them. I believe serving sets a totally different standard. It reminds my clients that they are in fact human, not just another customer in the business realm. Contrary to popular belief, I deeply believe the human dimension in coach to client relationships is super important. Serving is warm and personal as servicing which is super robotic and cold.
Serving to me means: understanding my clients needs on a profound level, helping them identify needs they may not even realize they have, helping them refine their definition of a need so as to focus on different possible solutions, thinking about ways how I can make my client’s workload easier, and even knowing something about my clients life outside the workouts.
Servicing is the minimal that can be done, but serving to me is the magical potion.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Fitness and athletics has always been apart of my life. I was an high school, college and post collegiate track and field athlete turned busy mom and entrepreneur. Since becoming a mom and losing 53 lbs after my son’s grand entrance into the world, I’ve utilized my social media platforms, to influence and promote healthy lifestyles for other busy women and moms despite their overstretched, time-strangled schedules. With 7 years of success and experience, I take out the guesswork for busy women and moms and help guide them to their ultimate fitness goals. I am fully confident and capable of analyzing busy bodies and creating a fitness plan that will help busy women transform without countless hours and days in the gym. My training style is anchored around the six fundamental movement patterns (Hinge, Squat, Lunge, Push, Pull, and Carry). I believe that properly training each movement pattern on a daily basis is a significant way to develop super woman strength, build muscle, lose body fat and bulletproof bodies against pain and injury. Most of my tiered packages include guidance on simplifying healthy eating (ditching the diet mentality) and exercise, to ensure the best results for my busy ladies. I will work with you to keep you on track and motivated to reach your goals.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele is honestly playing my strengths by being authentically me. Understanding exactly what my clients wants, being super transparent and authentic with each of them, building solid relationships and actually getting to know them.
I’ve also learned to adapt my business grows. It’s vital to keep trying new ways to reach my clientele. As my company grew, I knew I had to keep up with the analytics and financials. I’ve had to learn to measure what was right for me and monitor everything.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I believe all good relationships are based on excellent communication. With that being said, I believe channels should be kept open. I create a database where I keep their names, numbers and email addresses, social media accounts, just about everything you can think of, to stay in touch. Some days I just reach out via text or with regular newsletters, I leave comments under their instagram posts etc.
