We were lucky to catch up with Garlyn DaSilva recently and have shared our conversation below.
Garlyn, appreciate you joining us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
I created my brand name “Theirishtwinmomlifedoula” after having my two sons who’s birthdays were less than a year apart and becoming a doula through DONA International. I quickly purchased my L.L.C. “ The Irishtwinmomlife L.L.C”
Garlyn, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I turned to social media after falling pregnant with my second son Kallahan (11/19/2021) only two months after giving birth to my first son Ryder (12/14/2020). While I was pregnant I was also serving in the United States Navy. When I discovered I was pregnant, I voluntarily separated from the service so that I would be able to stay home with my two children, while my husband Lucas went to work. When I gave birth to my second son, that’s when social media really took off for me. I used it as a huge support system through postpartum depression, rage, anxiety, lactation support, and marital support. Finally after becoming myself again , my creativity turned into motherhood mixed with fashion. As a mother, I take care of everyone. Social media is my way of remembering to take care of myself and I truly thank the opportunities it has brought our family.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I would say being able to see the final product is the most rewarding aspect. The final product is a deliverable of what you saw in your mind and made a reality.
Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
I am very thankful to say I am signed to Jexy Agency. If it wasn’t for the help of my amazing manager Cara , I truly don’t know how I’d deal with all of the financial marketing that goes on behind the scenes. I work my absolute hardest on delivering incredible content so that my past , present and future partnerships will continue to grow and grow into bigger deals!
