We were lucky to catch up with Augusto Herrera recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Augusto thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with education – we’d love to hear your thoughts about how we can better prepare students for a more fulfilling life and career
I would like to see more classes on financial literacy and how to set and achieve goals. Being a teacher is one of the most important jobs and I commend those educators doing their best.
We see what it takes first hand. My wife and I love volunteering at South Orlando Christian Academy where we have family that teach.
One of the best ways to prepare the youth is to help them understand the power of their own minds. How the words we use and the thoughts we think shape our lives and impact our careers. We want to make these foundational tools easy to remember and fun for the kids. One of the mindset topics I teach them is called T.F.A.R. which stands for Thoughts, Feelings, Actions and Results. The goal is to make it an enjoyable process and get them thinking for themselves and dreaming big!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My mother immigrated from the Dominican Republic and I was born in Queens, New York. Being raised by a single mother with a strong cultural background, who was loving and hard working set the tone for me in my life.
Creativity and entrepreneurship was encouraged at an early age. From getting my mother to drive me to buy candy so I could resell it at school for more money, to her buying our first video camera which I loved recording videos on.
The support to create and use my imagination was there and it led me to the path I am on now.
I am currently based in Florida and my wife and I own Choose Love Productions, which specializes in photography and video services for businesses.
We’ve produced content for companies such as Google, Kingsford, Lyft, Amazon Pay, Canva and many others. We love what we do and are grateful for every client we get, whether its a Fortune 500 or a small business getting started.
We don’t view our clients as cookie cutter orders. Our goal is to understand our clients vision for their projects and exceed their expectations. We cover the entirety of the project from concept to deliverable so it can be a very simple and stress-free process for our clients.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the best lessons I unlearned was thinking I had to be right all the time. From adolescence I carried a sense of thinking I had a lot of answers when in fact I barely had any. Through experience it became apparent to me that it was okay to be wrong and it was a positive as long as I learned something.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
Growing up we must of moved almost 10 times from elementary school through high school. I chose to learn to adapt to new environments and social circles. The power of resilience I believe lies in our ability to adapt when we find ourselves in new situations, especially the ones that are uncomfortable and test us mentally and physically.
