Sharde, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.

Shardè’s grandmother planted the seed of cooking and baking into her life at a young age. Finding her niche for baking, Shardè, could not get rid of her sweet tooth and
continue to cultivate her love for baked goods. Baking and hosting events at her home began to be a weekly routine. During holidays and special events, family and friends would gather around the table laughing and enjoying the savory taste of Shardè’s Sweet Potato Pie!

Shardè did not take light the power baking goods brought families and friends together
to laugh, eat and enjoy fresh, moist, fantastic baking goods. “Tasty Treats by Shardè” offers unique taste of pies, cupcakes, cakes, cookies and more. Today “Tasty
Treats by Shardè” is a bakery that specializes in weddings, baby showers, special events, and birthday cakes.

Sharde, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Tasty Treats by Shardè, is a black owned and operated bakery that specializes in birthdays, weddings and cupcakes, and other delicious desserts,
including our signature desserts Strawberry Crunch Cupcakes, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup cupcakes
and Strawberry shortcake jar.

Baltimore city one tasty treat at a time.”

Shardè Harrison, a creative, and enthusiastic baker who found her love for baking in 2019. As a child, Shardè valued moments with her grandmother in the kitchen cooking everything: from mac & cheese, greens to double chocolate cake.

How did you build your audience on social media?

I use my social media accounts to build followers and to remain relevant in today’s society. Most of my clients find it easier to stay in contact with on my social media platforms. I am currently working on building a website to gain more access to other clients.

My advice to others starting to build the social media presence is to stay up to date on what is trendy and current in the social media world.

Can you share one of your favorite marketing or sales stories?

One of my favorite marketing stories is when I did my first interview with WJZ-13 on the “Coffee With Segment.” I was able to let viewers see what products I sell and let them know how to place and order.

This opportunity gave me a chance to gain new customers and it boosted by sales tremendously.

The following year I did a second interview with them. During this interview I discussed the highs and lows of keeping my business open during Covid-19 pandemic.
