We were lucky to catch up with Brittney Creager recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Brittney, thanks for joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.

With out risk there can be no reward, taking that first step in your career can feel scary, intimidating and confusing. I, like many other business owners have experienced the doubt and uncertainty of taking a risk to start out on our ventures. For me I knew in my heart going solo and stepping out of my comfort zone was the best next move. My story started with taking a risk and leaving a job i was thriving in to start my own business as a solo esthetician. The risk i took involved doing something i was told was never possible and hearing “maybe in a few years you could” or “it is really hard owning your own business” was something that scared me and made me think “can i really do this?”. Despite all the bad energy and feedback i received i decided to quit my job and start my business. Four months later after a lot of work and effort I created ATX Esthetician LLC. Fast forward one year to August 2022 my small business is thriving and doing better than i could have ever dreamed of. With clients who have became friends to lives i have changed with being an acne specialist, i’d take that risk of losing everything and failing over and over again. Without risk there can be no reward!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Brittney Creager, I am a licensed professional esthetician. Becoming an esthetician was an effortless career choice for me. At an early age i always knew helping others was something that came natrually to me and something i knew i had to incorporate in my everyday life! I get to live my dream job while working on people in the amazing Austin community. I specialize in acne, anti-aging and relaxing facials. I am an acne specialist with Face Reality and i love helping others manage and maintain their acne. I use top product lines like Glymed Plus to help people with all skin types! From relaxing facials to result driven treatments like chemical peels and customized facials i like to incorporate it all. To impact my clients confidence and well being truly makes me love what i do. I thrive on creating a peaceful and mindful environment for all my guest. I also pride myself on being genuine and authentic. My guest are more than clients they are my friends! I know how stressful and intimidating it can be getting a service from someone with whom you just met, especially if you just want to relax and feel at ease. This is why at ATX esthetician your needs and concerns come first above all else.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?

The most effective way i found in growing clientele in the beauty industry has been word of mouth and a social media presence. Word of mouth has been something so amazing for me and my business in a way nothing else has! Building trust with your clients allows them to let their coworkers, friends and family about their experience with you. Implicating a referral program is also a great incentive for your exsisting and new cleints. Instagram has allowed me to grow my following and reach peolpe through engaging with helpful content. I love being able to interact with my clients and give my potential cleints a glimpse into ATX Esthetician lifestyle.

How did you build your audience on social media?

My best advice for building your social media is to at least engage with your audiance once a day! for business owners this can fall through the cracks with everything else your juggling but it will make a difference. Potential and exsisting clients enjoy seeing what they could benefit and learn from! Using apps like Canva and Pic Collage to style, create and design your page are exciting ways to change up the content you are posting.
