Drezzy, appreciate you joining us today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?

Yes, I am happy that I found something that not only expresses myself but also helps others gain confidence & change lives through conversations. A lot of people think being a business owner is easy or that we don’t go through as much, not knowing that you have to be a strong person mentally & emotionally to deal with other individuals daily. Us business owners have a habit of living in our thoughts wondering if we made the right decision to work for ourself or if we made the right decision with an investment, the thing is you never really know . When I quit my job it was a leap of faith , wasn’t expected but when you prepare yourself for the worse there will always be a amazing outcome & opportunity waiting for you on the other side . Of course there are days that I want to give up or take a break from running my business but I think about how far I’ve come or how far I could be if I keep the consistency that I have. As a business owner our income is not always guaranteed so Yes , I may have had a set back in the back of my mind that “I miss my 9-5 check ” BUT when I began to put the work in to get the opportunities that I deserved , I no longer had to question my career again. I applaud anybody who works a 9-5 or runs a business , we are all hustlers in our own unique way & as long as you are taking care of YOU , there’s not a individual in this world that can judge you . Drezzy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I am a 22 year old Loctician of 5 years located in Cleveland, OH . I grew up falling in love with art & creativity not knowing how to express it other than drawing on paper . Once I started my Loc journey is 2015 I began to take over as my own hairstylist to twist my own locs & give them the proper treatment after I did my personal research. I want my future clients to know that I’ll always make sure you have that self confidence you deserve & that it’s ok to step out your comfort zone to fine YOU as an individual . I am proud of my growth as a person & my growth as an business owner . I’ll continue to make sure that my brand , my name gets out there no matter how long it takes .

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Networking !! A lot of people are scared to reach out to others or ask questions . One thing I learned was knowledge will get you so far in life no matter how small the lesson is . There is power in meeting new people & having conversations, you never know who you’ll meet . Also , taking advantage of social media is a plus for me , we live in a world where technology is everything & since that is where the attention is , it’s only right to build a platform for yourself & your brand

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?

Instagram has been a big platform for me & I also have clients who referred others to me
