We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tatiana Fedotova. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tatiana below.
Tatiana, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I was lucky to be surrounded by very supportive and talented people in the magic community from the very beginning of my interest in magic. Many of them made encouraging comments when I performed, even in my early days. I paid close attention to those words because they came from respected and accomplished magicians. They have probably forgotten what they said, but I still remember.
One magician mentioned that when I talk about magic, there is so much passion in my eyes compared to when I talk about anything else. Another person said that I have a unique style of presenting magic. Someone else pointed out that there are very few women in magic and encouraged me to step into the field. Little by little, I found inspiration in that feedback.
The greatest inspiration, however, came from my teachers. When you are surrounded by passionate and successful people, their enthusiasm naturally rubs off on you.
My first magic teacher was Mark Wilson, the first major television magician. Mark and his wife, Nani Darnell, who assisted with many of his illusions, taught me the fundamentals of magic and helped me discover my specialty. My second magic teacher was Brian Gillis, who was a favorite magician of both Johnny Carson and Johnny Depp. Brian taught me a great deal about performance, marketing, presentation, and professional appearance.
At the time, I did not fully realize how influential my teachers were in the world of magic. It was only after they passed away that I truly understood the impact they had on the art form and on my own journey. Looking back, I realize I took some of those experiences for granted. As I reflect on the many lessons they shared with me, I feel incredibly fortunate to have learned from such remarkable legends.

Tatiana, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hello everyone! My name is Tatiana Fedotova. I am a professional magician with a specialty in mentalism. Magic is a unique and exciting field because, as part of the profession, I am given the opportunity to read minds, make predictions, and create an environment that allows audience members to immerse themselves in fun and enjoyable activities.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect for me is seeing people genuinely happy and enjoying the show. That feeling means a lot. It reminds me that all the creativity, long hours of preparation, and even the sleepless nights were truly worth it. For me, that response from the audience is the real reward of being an artist.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is to create moments of happiness for people. I believe we are here to experience life fully and find joy wherever we can. Of course, life is not always easy or joyful, so my goal is to offer a brief escape from everyday reality and leave my audience with a feeling of lightness and genuine happiness.
