We were lucky to catch up with Baylee London recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Baylee, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve been working on is my “40 Over 40 Project,” where I photograph and celebrate 40 women over the age of 40 through a luxury portrait experience.
The project was important to me because I saw how many women in that age group felt overlooked, invisible, or disconnected from their confidence. Through the experience, I was able to create a space where they felt seen, celebrated, and valued. Each participant shared her story, and many told me it was the first time in years they had done something purely for themselves.
As a photographer, I create images every day, but this project has been about much more than photos. It was about helping women rediscover their self-worth and documenting a stage of life that often isn’t represented positively. Seeing the emotional impact it had on the participants and hearing how it changed the way they viewed themselves made it one of the most rewarding projects of my career.
The project reinforced why I love what I do: using photography not just to create beautiful images, but to help people see themselves in a new light.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Almost 10 years ago, my newspaper advisor handed me a camera and sent me to photograph a football game to accompany a story I was writing. At the time, I was a journalist focused on sports and editorial writing. What was supposed to be a simple assignment ended up changing the course of my life; I instantly fell in love with photography.
For the next three years, I focused on sports photography. Then, during college, the pandemic sent me back home to Idaho, where I soon became a mother. I decided to pursue photography full-time, starting with family portraits before eventually finding my true passion in boudoir photography.
In 2023, I photographed my first major recording artist and discovered a whole new creative outlet. The energy, emotion, and storytelling of the music industry reignited the same excitement I felt on the sidelines of those football games years before. Since then, I’ve built a career that allows me to balance luxury boudoir experiences with concert photography and creative portraiture and travel for it.
Today, I’m an award-winning photographer who has worked with hundreds of incredible clients, built a multi-six-figure business, traveling across the country constantly for sessions and events, and helped people see themselves in a whole new light. Whether I’m photographing a woman rediscovering her confidence, an artist commanding a stage, or a family preserving a moment in time, my mission remains the same: to create images that make people feel seen, empowered, and unforgettable.
What sets me apart isn’t just the photos I create but the experience and connection behind them. Whether I’m photographing a woman stepping into her confidence during a boudoir session or working with a creative building their brand, I’m drawn to moments of authenticity, vulnerability, and power. My work is rooted in storytelling. I don’t believe in stiff poses or forcing people into a version of themselves that isn’t real. Instead, I focus on creating an environment where people feel comfortable enough to let their guard down and show up as they truly are. That’s where the magic happens.
I’m known for creating luxury boudoir experiences that leave clients feeling empowered long after their session ends, as well as capturing artists in a way that reflects not just what they look like, but who they are.
At the heart of everything I do is the same mission: helping people see themselves in a new light and creating images that feel as powerful as the moment itself.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One story that best illustrates resilience in my journey is that I’ve had to build my photography business from the ground up three separate times.
The first time was when I was building my family. During the pandemic, I left college, moved back home, and became a mother. I made the decision to leave a traditional career path behind and pursue photography full-time. It was a leap of faith, but one that ultimately allowed me to create a career I loved while being present for my son.
The second time came when I left my husband and returned home. I found myself navigating life as a single mother while rebuilding my business and client base. It was one of the most difficult seasons of my life, but it taught me how capable I was of adapting and creating opportunities even when circumstances felt overwhelming.
The third time was when I made the decision to move across the country again for a fresh start. Once again, I left behind a network, reputation, and established clientele. In a service-based business built on trust and relationships, that meant earning everything all over again. It required persistence, confidence, and a willingness to step into the unknown.
Looking back, those moves taught me that resilience isn’t about avoiding challenges, but it’s about continuing to move forward despite them. Each time I started over, I came back stronger, more experienced, and more determined. Today, I’m proud to have built a successful business while raising my son and navigating major life transitions. Those experiences showed me that growth often begins where comfort ends.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I believe one of the biggest factors in building my reputation has been authenticity. In a world where it’s easy to only show the highlight reel, I’ve always tried to show up as myself; both in my business and in my personal brand.
I’ve shared the wins, but I’ve also been open about the challenges. I think people connect with honesty, and clients want to work with someone they trust. By being genuine, I’ve been able to build relationships that go beyond a transaction.
That authenticity also carries over into my work. I don’t believe in creating a one-size-fits-all experience. I take the time to get to know my clients, understand their stories, and create something that feels true to who they are. Whether it’s a boudoir session, a portrait, or a mentorship, my goal is always to make people feel seen, comfortable, and valued.
At the end of the day, trends change and social media algorithms come and go, but trust lasts. I think my reputation has been built not just on the quality of my work, but on people knowing that what they see is what they get. I’m unapologetically myself, and I think that’s what has allowed me to build such a loyal community around my brand.
