We were lucky to catch up with Solomon Franks recently and have shared our conversation below.
Solomon , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your career and how did you resolve those issues?
The most challenging thing as an actor and recording artist is balancing a day job. We always deal with companies that don’t believe in a work life balance and go by this principle you can only leave work if you have vacation time so it can get rough when you strongly believe you was made for something great and more then being a 9 to 5 person.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into acting when I was a kid in 3rd grade when theatre was one of the classes I actually had to take in New York. Acting also is apart of my life. Friends always said I’m animated, very intense at times, but also funny with a strong presence about myself. I started writing mini movies as a kid that I would share with my parents when I was on punishment.. What set me apart from everyone else is my passion for acting and music at a young age.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creator is when a person comes to you and thanks you for making that song or appearing on that movie that changed their life. I also love to see my work on tv.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
There were so many battles I went through like being homeless, going to jail, losing my job, going to the hospital and almost dying from a tumor. Through all the trials and tribulations I knew god was protecting and preparing me to have a story to share with to be able to help others going through similar things.
