We recently connected with Tyeasia Dorsey and have shared our conversation below.
Tyeasia, appreciate you joining us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
If I could go back in time, I honestly believe I started my business at the right time. Looking back, there were moments when I wished I had taken the leap sooner, but I now understand that every experience I had beforehand was preparing me for entrepreneurship.
Before starting my business, I was working for an agency doing the same type of work that I am doing now. I was dedicated, hardworking, and consistently went above and beyond my job responsibilities. However, despite the effort and value I brought to the organization, I began to feel unappreciated and undervalued. I found myself giving my best while not receiving the recognition, growth opportunities, or sense of fulfillment that I desired. Over time, I realized that I was helping build someone else’s vision while my own dreams remained on hold.
Instead of reacting emotionally or making an impulsive decision, I chose to be patient. I prayed for guidance, clarity, and direction. I stayed quiet, continued working, and moved in silence while preparing for my next chapter. During that season, I was learning valuable lessons about leadership, client relationships, business operations, and the importance of believing in my own worth. What felt like frustration at the time was actually preparation.
When I finally launched my business, I did so with greater confidence, knowledge, and purpose. Had I started sooner, I may not have been emotionally, professionally, or spiritually ready for the challenges that come with entrepreneurship. I might have lacked the experience, systems, and confidence needed to sustain and grow a successful business. Starting later, on the other hand, could have delayed opportunities, growth, and the impact I am able to make today.
Looking back, I don’t wish I had started sooner or later. I believe I started exactly when I was supposed to. The timing allowed me to develop the skills, resilience, and faith necessary to succeed. Every setback, every feeling of being overlooked, and every prayer during that season helped shape the business owner I am today. What once felt like being undervalued became the motivation that pushed me to create something of my own, where I could operate with purpose, serve others, and build a legacy that reflects my values and vision.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
For those who may not know me, I have been working in the helping profession for 18 years. My passion for serving others started at a young age, and I knew early on that I wanted a career where I could make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. At the age of 20, I began my journey as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), providing direct care and support to individuals in need. That experience taught me the importance of compassion, patience, and meeting people where they are.
While working as a CNA, I realized I wanted to do more. I wanted to have a greater impact, so I made the decision to pursue higher education and continue developing my skills. Throughout the years, I gained hands-on experience in a variety of settings, learned from incredible professionals, and continuously invested in my personal and professional growth. Every role I held provided valuable lessons that helped shape the leader, clinician, and business owner I am today.
Eventually, all of those experiences led me to create my own business. My work is centered around helping individuals improve their mental health, emotional well-being, recovery, personal growth, and overall quality of life. I provide professional services that support individuals as they navigate life’s challenges, build healthier coping skills, strengthen resilience, and work toward meaningful goals.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My journey has not been without challenges. Like many people, I have experienced heartbreak, painful breakups, the loss of friendships, and the loss of loved ones. I have also faced my own mental health struggles along the way. There were seasons in my life when things felt overwhelming, but I made a commitment to keep fighting, keep growing, and keep moving forward. I never gave up on myself, even during the most difficult times. Those experiences gave me a deeper understanding of resilience, healing, and the importance of having support during life’s toughest moments.
Because I have faced challenges of my own, I am able to connect with people from a place of genuine empathy and understanding. I know what it feels like to struggle, to question yourself, and to have to rebuild after loss. I also know what it feels like to heal, grow, and discover strength you didn’t know you had. Those experiences have strengthened my passion for helping others find hope and healing in their own journeys.
What sets me apart is that I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to the work I do. My clients know they are working with someone who not only understands the clinical side of healing but also understands the human side. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where people feel seen, heard, and empowered to make positive changes in their lives.
What I am most proud of is not just my professional accomplishments, but the fact that I continued moving forward despite the obstacles I encountered. I am proud of the lives I have impacted, the business I have built, and the example I set for others who may be facing their own struggles. My story is proof that difficult seasons do not define your future.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I took the money that I receive from my pay from my previous job and saved it. I never called out or use vacation or sick time so when i departed i was able to turn my hours into cash.
