We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tiffany Hamilton a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory of how you established your own practice.
When I first decided to start my own practice, it came from wanting more control over the way I served clients and built my work. I already had experience in the field, but I felt limited by existing systems, so I chose to create something of my own, and wanted to bring awareness to the deaf hoh community.
The first steps were getting clear on my services, registering the business, and setting up the basic structure things like payments, scheduling, and how I would actually deliver the work. I kept everything simple at the beginning so I could focus on getting clients rather than building something overly complex.
The biggest challenges were inconsistency in income early on and having to wear every hat at once service provider, marketer, and administrator. It was a lot to manage, and I had to learn how to prioritize quickly.
If I could do anything differently, I would set up better systems earlier for organization and follow-up, and I would focus more on marketing and visibility from the start instead of waiting until everything felt perfect. Also limit customer access to myself, I got an abundance in emails that should’ve been reviews.
My advice to someone starting a practice is to begin with what you have, keep your setup simple, and focus on getting real experience with real clients. Treat it like a real business from day one, even if it’s small, and build structure as you grow.

Tiffany, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a holistic practitioner entrepreneur focused on helping people feel better through simple, practical nutrition and lifestyle support. I run Living Foods Holistics, where I create meal prep and functional drinks designed to improve energy, digestion, and overall balance, along with wellness experiences like breathwork-based resets.
I got into this work through a passion for health and realizing how many people struggle with consistency and confusion around what to eat and how to care for their bodies. My goal is to simplify wellness so it’s realistic and easy to maintain.
What sets my work apart is that it blends nutrition with lifestyle and mindset support not just food, but routines that help people reset and stay aligned in daily life.

Have you ever had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots in my business has been shifting from traditional meal prep to a more focused functional beverage model. I realized many of my clients needed something even more convenient and sustainable for their lifestyle, so I began transitioning my brand into an all-drink, nutrition-focused concept “meal in a bottle” style drinks that still deliver real nourishment but are easier to stay consistent with.
That pivot allowed me to simplify operations, reduce barriers for clients, and better meet people where they are in their daily routines while still delivering the same level of nutrition and care.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
My advice for maintaining a strong team is to lead with clear communication, consistency, and respect. People perform best when they understand expectations, feel supported, and know their work matters. I also focus on setting a strong example as a leader showing up prepared, staying organized, and holding myself to the same standards I expect from others.
It’s also important to give feedback early, not after issues build up, and to recognize good work consistently. When the team feels valued and clear on the mission, it naturally creates better performance and stronger accountability.
