We were lucky to catch up with Lily Monge recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lily , appreciate you joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
I started my business, Monday Muse LLC, in February 2023. Before venturing out on my own, I worked under a well-known brow artist for two years. After those two years, I felt in my core that I had gained enough knowledge and experience to take the leap and build something of my own. When it comes to entrepreneurship, there’s no perfect timeline..it’s more of a feeling of, “Okay, let’s do this!”
Once I started, I gave myself no choice but to succeed. Looking back, there are times I wish I had started younger, but I now realize I needed the experiences and challenges I went through in my early twenties to get me where I am today. Those lessons gave me the maturity and certainty that entrepreneurship was the path meant for me.

Lily , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello! My name is Lily, and I’m a licensed esthetician specializing in brows and lash lifts.
I’ve always been passionate about being my own boss. hahaha! Ever since I can remember, I craved the freedom to create my own path and build something that was truly mine. I was also a very girly girl growing up and knew I wanted to be in the beauty industry. However, my parents strongly believed in higher education, so I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing. Even after graduating, I still felt lost when it came to choosing a career.
The thought of spending my life helping someone else build and grow their dream while putting mine on hold never sat right with me. So, I told the universe I was ready for an opportunity and sure enough, I found my way into the brow industry.
It’s not as magical or easy as I just made it sound. The first two years I put in a lot of work and gained valuable knowledge by working under someone but I knew this was a step before I was able to create a career and business of my own.
Fast forward to today, and I’ve been running my business for over three years. It has been challenging, humbling, and incredibly rewarding. I love connecting with people, making them feel beautiful and confident, and creating a safe space where they can be themselves. One of the most meaningful parts of my work is the relationships I’ve built with my clients. They trust me, support me, and genuinely care about me, just as I care about them.
I truly feel like I’ve found my purpose through my career, and that’s one of the greatest feelings.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been referrals / word-of-mouth marketing. I truly focus on creating an exceptional client experience, not just delivering great services, but making my clients feel comfortable, heard, and confident. When people have a positive experience, they naturally tell their friends and family. Social media has also helped me showcase my work and attract new clients, but referrals have consistently brought in the most loyal and long-term clients.

Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
I love this question!!! I could spend hours talking about books, podcasts, YouTube videos, and TED Talks that have influenced me. I’m a big believer in consuming content that helps me continue learning and growing, both personally and professionally. I’m always looking for ways to improve my mindset, expand my knowledge, and become the best version of myself so that I can continue to grow my business. Some of my favorite include Tony Robbins, Gabby Bernstein, Andrew Huberman and the list goes on.
One book I highly recommend reading is “The Tools” by Phil Stutz and Barry Michels
