Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Pharah Phitted. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Pharah thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
I have always known I was destined to be an artist. I have always had a creative spirit. But when you are so young and life sends you down a different path, you have to go with it; especially when everyone around you tells you it’s not possible.
After high school, I immediately went to college to study to become a doctor. I was an excellent student, so the school work itself was not an issue and my grades were well above average.
The issue was my passion. The music began stirring in my spirit until finally I decided to drop out of college in pursuit of my dream. It went against everyone’s judgement, but it was a decision that I had to make in order to make myself feel whole and complete.
It was a risk at the time, and still is to this day, but it is a decision that I am happy I made.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I have been singing since I was 4 years old. I was the entertainment at that age for my family and I loved every minute of it! I knew then, that music was my direction. My father’s side of the family are all singers, we even have a family anthem that we sing together when we get together. “Loves in Need” by Stevie Wonder. It is a magical sight!
Since that time, I have won many singing competitions and even made it one audition shy of “THE VOICE” and “AMERICAN IDOL”. At that time I was afraid of my powerful voice and that is what stopped me from making it to the big screen!
I started realizing I was able to write while I was in elementary school. I started writing short stories, and poems that were beyond my years. They were detailed and structured by chapters, I even created a “cover art” for them and everything!
As I progressed with it, I realized that I could rhyme, and began finding beats that would match my poems at the time. Then it started morphing into spoken word and rap.
The passion I have for music is what keeps me alive! It makes me feel electrified and having a dream as big as mine, keeps my eye on the prize. No matter what is going on in the day to day life, my dream pushes me to continue to thrive even through rough times.
Once I really began to take the music seriously, many people started telling me to choose between singing and rapping; but I couldn’t do it. So I continued to utilize both of my gifts, and I’m so glad I did!
Because the very thing they told me not to do, is the very thing that has set me apart and transformed me into one of the music unique artists of my generation.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist , is the genuine connection I make with my fans and supporters. The songs I make resonate with people, and sometimes save lives. I never take for granted to impact I have on the world, and I choose my words carefully, to not only help them to understand me, but to let them know that I understand!

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Yes. I read a lot of books. They say anything you want to know, someone has written it in a book somewhere.
I read books like “Atomic Habits” “The secret”, “48 Laws of Power”.. just to name a few.
My mogul impacts come from people such as Zig Zigglar, JayZ and Will Smith.
The way that they explain the industry and even the power of your own mind genuinely intrigues me. If you can think it you can do it. If you are clear, you can make it.
