Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ali The Professor. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ali, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you open up about a risk you’ve taken – what it was like taking that risk, why you took the risk and how it turned out?
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was deciding not to wait for the perfect time to pursue creative work.
I’ve always loved storytelling and film, but I also wanted a stable career. I became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and built a career helping families, but I never wanted to give up my creative interests.
Instead of choosing one path, I decided to do both. I started A² The Show, where I have conversations with people from different backgrounds, and I’m currently working on a documentary about Arab-American comedians in Los Angeles.
There were plenty of times when it would have been easier to focus only on work and put creative projects aside. But I realized that if I kept waiting for the perfect time, I might never start.
I’m still early in the journey, but taking that risk has introduced me to amazing people and taught me that you don’t have to fit into one box. Sometimes the biggest risk is simply giving yourself permission to pursue more than one passion.

Ali, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, filmmaker, and host of A² The Show. I’ve always been interested in storytelling and connecting with people. While I work in healthcare helping children and families, I’ve continued to pursue creative projects outside of my day job.
Through A² The Show, I enjoy having long-form conversations with guests from different backgrounds and sharing their stories. I’m also working on a documentary about Arab-American comedians in Los Angeles, which has allowed me to connect with an incredible community and capture stories that don’t always get told.
What I love most is bringing people together and creating conversations that are honest, thoughtful, and entertaining. My goal isn’t just to create content, but to document interesting people and preserve stories that might otherwise be overlooked.
One thing I’d like people to know is that you don’t have to fit yourself into one category. You can have multiple passions and pursue them at the same time. I’m grateful to have a career that allows me to help others while continuing to explore filmmaking and storytelling.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal is to tell stories and preserve conversations that might otherwise be overlooked. Through A² The Show and my documentary work, I’m interested in highlighting people and communities that don’t always receive mainstream attention. I enjoy bringing people together and creating a space where they can share their experiences honestly.
I don’t have a grand master plan. I simply want to keep learning, creating, and documenting interesting stories. If something I create helps people feel seen, inspired, or connected, then I consider that a success.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One thing that has taught me resilience is learning how to pursue creative work without putting the rest of my life on hold. I work full-time as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, and most of my creative projects happen after work and on weekends. There have been times when progress felt slow, but I’ve learned that consistency matters more than speed. I don’t need overnight success to keep creating. As long as I’m learning, meeting interesting people, and telling stories that matter to me, I consider that progress.
