Tierika, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
I learned what I do by researching and including things of that path in my everyday life. I watch 90s movies and tv shows often. Music videos and magazines are a fave of mine. Once I saw the fashion and mannerisms I moved into learning camera work. My friend Diego gave me his old camera and showed me the ropes of filming and editing. The most essential thing to me was being very accurate with fashion, years and music. I wouldn’t say I’ve had any obstacles with learning more.

Hi, I’m The90sBuzz. I’m a 90s enthusiast and influencer. I live every life like it’s the 90s, from my fashion to the music. I literally have a tape player and watch VHS tapes.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I always laugh when I tell people how built my social media audience. I originally started posting on Facebook and no one liked what I was doing. Well there were a few people but my likes weren’t over 10. One of my friends told me to create a tiktok and post my videos there. I was like nooooo lol tiktok is for kids and dancing. I downloaded tiktok and posted one video. I woke up to my friend telling me to get back on TikTok and I had my first viral video. I could t believe it. People was asking for more video and I had a phone full of them: next thing I knew I found my tribe and other creators who did the same as me.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect for me is sending people down memory lane. To have a fan base and supporters of people my parents and grandparents age telling me they remember these things and owned these items is a good feeling. I’m literally a walking Time Machine and specialize in unlocking memories. Being able to take people back to a time when things were so simple and they were just getting into their adult years is a blessing to me.
