Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Brandy Jones. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Brandy, thanks for joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
I learned to do what I do through a combination of curiosity, persistence, and hands-on experience. As the founder of Plush Beez and Rock & Yarn Artistry, much of my journey has been self-taught. I learned by researching, experimenting, making mistakes, listening to customers, studying other entrepreneurs and artists, and most importantly, by continuing to create even when I didn’t have all the answers.
Looking back, I could have accelerated my learning process by seeking more mentors earlier, investing in specialized business and marketing education, and building a stronger network of people who had already traveled the path I was trying to navigate. Experience is a great teacher, but guidance can shorten the learning curve.
The most essential skills have been creativity, resilience, adaptability, problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building. Whether creating art, developing products, or building a brand, the ability to connect with people and remain committed during difficult seasons has been invaluable.
One of the biggest obstacles to learning more was limited access to resources and industry-specific knowledge in the beginning. Like many entrepreneurs and artists, I was balancing multiple responsibilities while trying to grow my businesses. There were also moments of self-doubt and uncertainty that naturally come with building something from the ground up. However, those challenges taught me perseverance and strengthened my confidence.
Today, I realize that every challenge, lesson, and setback contributed to my growth. They helped shape not only my businesses but also my identity as an entrepreneur and artist. I am still learning every day, and that continuous pursuit of knowledge is one of the things I value most about the journey.

Brandy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Brandy Jones, and I am the founder of Plush Beez, Rock & Yarn Artistry, and Queen Beez Productions. At my core, I am a creator, entrepreneur, and storyteller who believes in transforming ideas, experiences, and emotions into something meaningful that can inspire others.
My journey into business and the arts was shaped by both my upbringing and my life experiences. I come from a family of entrepreneurs, so I grew up watching people build opportunities for themselves. While I spent years in the corporate world, I always had a creative spirit and a desire to build something of my own. That passion eventually led me to launch Plush Beez, a premium infant apparel company focused on quality, comfort, and care for children. Later, my artistic journey evolved into Rock & Yarn Artistry, where I create mixed-media artwork using rocks, yarn, beads, fabrics, and found materials to tell stories about culture, music, heritage, identity, and human connection.
What makes my work unique is that I don’t simply create products or artwork—I create stories. Every piece I design carries a deeper meaning. Whether it’s a baby onesie designed to celebrate childhood, a mixed-media portrait honoring beauty and resilience, or a film project exploring legacy and character, my goal is to create work that evokes emotion and leaves a lasting impression.
Through Plush Beez, I provide thoughtfully designed infant apparel that combines style, comfort, and quality. Through Rock & Yarn Artistry, I create one-of-a-kind fine art pieces that celebrate culture, history, music, family, and personal transformation. Through Queen Beez Productions, I tell stories through film and visual media that inspire reflection, conversation, and connection.
The problems I solve are often emotional rather than transactional. My artwork helps people see themselves, their stories, and their experiences reflected in a meaningful way. My products and creative projects create opportunities for people to celebrate life, heritage, family, and identity. In a world that often moves quickly, I strive to create work that invites people to pause, reflect, and feel something.
What sets me apart is my willingness to combine multiple disciplines and mediums. I am not limited by traditional definitions of art, business, or storytelling. I create from a place of authenticity and purpose. Every piece, product, and project is designed to tell a story and honor the beauty, strength, and complexity of the human experience.
What I am most proud of is having the courage to embrace who I truly am. For years, I built careers and businesses, but one of my greatest realizations has been understanding that I am an artist. That realization has given me the confidence to create boldly, trust my vision, and share my voice with the world.
I want potential clients, collectors, supporters, and followers to know that my work is deeply personal. It is rooted in loyalty, dignity, faith, perseverance, and legacy. Whether someone purchases a piece of artwork, supports one of my brands, or watches one of my films, I want them to walk away feeling inspired, seen, and connected.
At the end of the day, I hope my work reminds people that beauty can emerge from struggle, creativity can transform pain into purpose, and every person has a story worth telling.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative is the ability to transform thoughts, emotions, experiences, and stories into something tangible that connects with people. There is something incredibly powerful about creating a piece of art and watching someone see a part of themselves reflected in it.
I love that art allows me to communicate without limitations. Through my work, I can celebrate culture, preserve history, honor resilience, express joy, and even turn pain into purpose. Every piece becomes a conversation between the artwork and the viewer, and knowing that something I created can inspire, heal, encourage, or spark reflection is deeply fulfilling.
One of the most meaningful discoveries in my journey has been realizing that I am an artist. That realization gave me permission to fully embrace my creativity and trust my voice. Whether I’m creating mixed-media artwork through Rock & Yarn Artistry, designing products through Plush Beez, or telling stories through film, I am driven by the opportunity to leave an emotional impact.
What I find most rewarding is knowing that my work can outlive me. Long after a piece is created, it continues telling a story, creating memories, and connecting people. To me, that is the true gift of being a creative—leaving behind something meaningful that continues to inspire others long after the moment of creation has passed.

In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
In my view, society can best support artists and creatives by recognizing that creativity is not simply a hobby—it is a valuable contribution to culture, education, innovation, and economic growth. Artists help tell our stories, preserve our history, challenge perspectives, and inspire future generations.
One of the most important ways to support a thriving creative ecosystem is to invest in arts education and provide accessible opportunities for people to explore creative expression from an early age. Creativity should be nurtured and valued alongside traditional academic and professional paths.
Communities, businesses, and institutions can also support artists by purchasing original work, funding public art projects, creating exhibition opportunities, and ensuring that artists are fairly compensated for their time, talent, and expertise. Exposure is helpful, but sustainable careers are built when creatives are paid for the value they provide.
Mentorship and networking opportunities are equally important. Many artists possess incredible talent but may lack access to resources, business knowledge, or industry connections. Creating spaces where experienced creatives can guide emerging artists helps strengthen the entire creative community.
I also believe society benefits when we celebrate diverse voices and perspectives. A healthy creative ecosystem allows artists from different backgrounds, cultures, and experiences to share their stories. Those stories help us better understand one another and preserve the richness of our collective human experience.
As an artist, I have learned that creativity has the power to heal, connect, and transform. Supporting artists means supporting imagination, innovation, and culture itself. When artists thrive, communities thrive because creativity has a way of bringing people together, inspiring dialogue, and reminding us of what makes us human.
