Hi Teffi, thanks for joining us today. Are you happier as a business owner? Do you sometimes think about what it would be like to just have a regular job?
Yes, I am happy as a business owner, but it definitely requires a lot more work, commitment, and perseverance than most people realize. There are moments when I feel exhausted and wonder if having a regular job would be easier. As a business owner, the responsibility never really stops. You have to think about your clients, your team, your finances, and the future of the business all at the same time.
The last time I had that thought was during a particularly stressful period when I was managing multiple projects, dealing with demanding clients, and trying to balance my professional responsibilities with my family life. I felt overwhelmed and questioned whether all the effort was worth it.
Then I looked at my daughters. They are still very young, and they are my greatest motivation. I want them to grow up knowing that their mother never gave up, even when things were difficult. I want to set an example of resilience, hard work, and determination.
Not every day is perfect. There are always challenges—whether it is handling difficult clients, understanding changes in the market, managing growth, or learning not to undervalue my work and the work of my team. Those lessons have not always been easy, but they have helped me grow both personally and professionally.
Through these experiences, I have learned that success requires persistence. The challenges are real, but so are the rewards. Seeing the impact of my work, creating opportunities for others, and building something that belongs to me makes the effort worthwhile. At the end of the day, I know that every sacrifice and every long hour is an investment in my family’s future, and that gives me the strength to keep moving forward.

Teffi, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Teffi Hernandez, and I am the founder of EM Hernandez Villegas, a company that began in the audiovisual production industry and has evolved into a multidisciplinary service provider supporting businesses, professionals, and law firms.
My professional background is in communications, audiovisual media, and film production. Over the years, I have worked as a producer, content creator, interviewer, and marketing strategist, helping organizations tell their stories and connect with their audiences through high-quality digital content.
What started as an audiovisual production company has expanded significantly in response to the needs of our clients. Today, EM Hernandez Villegas offers a wide range of services, including video production, podcast production, social media management, content creation, marketing support, translation services, interpretation services, document preparation, and professional writing services.
I lead a small but highly dedicated team that works under my direction. Together, we have adapted to changing market demands and built a flexible business model that allows us to provide customized solutions across multiple industries.
A significant portion of our work involves supporting law firms and legal professionals. In addition to assisting with marketing, social media strategies, interviews, podcasts, and public relations efforts, we also provide translation services, document drafting, bilingual communications support, and administrative assistance. Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was believing that being a woman, a wife, and a mother somehow made me less capable of succeeding as a business owner.
For many years, I encountered people who doubted me. Some questioned whether I could effectively run a business while raising children and maintaining a family. Others assumed that my responsibilities as a mother would prevent me from growing professionally. Over time, hearing those opinions repeatedly made me question myself as well.
The turning point came when I realized that many of those limitations were not mine—they belonged to other people’s perceptions. I had to stop listening to the doubts and expectations of others and start trusting my own abilities, experience, and determination.
Throughout my journey, I have had doors closed in my face and have heard the word “no” many times. However, I continued moving forward. The support of my family, especially my husband and daughters, has been one of the greatest sources of strength in my life. They remind me why I keep going and why every challenge is worth facing.
Today, I believe women are living in a time where we can choose our own paths. We can build businesses, pursue careers, be present mothers, supportive spouses, or any combination of those roles. The key is finding balance, staying organized, and defining success on our own terms rather than according to someone else’s expectations.
If there is one message I would like to share, it is this: never doubt your ability to grow. Whether your dream is to build a company, dedicate yourself to raising a family, pursue a professional career, or all of the above, your path is valid. Success looks different for everyone, and fulfillment comes from living a life that aligns with your values and aspirations. Never let anyone convince you that your dreams are too big or that your circumstances define your potential.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
One of the most important ways we maintain strong client relationships and foster brand loyalty is through communication and accessibility.
I have a dedicated team that helps manage client communications and ensure that no inquiry goes unanswered. Every day, we set aside time specifically to respond to messages, follow up on ongoing matters, and provide support to our clients. We understand that timely communication builds trust, especially when clients are dealing with important business, legal, or personal matters.
Our goal is not simply to provide a service, but to become a reliable partner throughout the entire process. We strive to make our clients feel supported, informed, and valued from the first interaction until the completion of their project. Whether they have a question, need clarification, or require additional assistance, we want them to know that we are available and ready to help.
