We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Christopher Simms a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Christopher, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
The most meaningful project I’ve worked on is myself. More specifically, the ongoing work of discovering, embracing, and improving who I am, and committing to that process every day.
For a long time, I was searching for identity through external markers; achievement, validation, and roles I thought I was supposed to play. But through that journey, I came to understand that identity isn’t something you manufacture, it’s something you uncover. I realized that the only one who truly understands the intent, purpose, and inner workings of a creation is its creator. That understanding led me to God.
Finding my identity in God reshaped how I see myself, my work, and my responsibility to others. It grounded me in something deeper than trends or expectations, and it gave clarity to why I create at all.
That’s why my next project is titled “YOU”. It’s a reflection of that journey. Finding myself, finding God, and recognizing God within me, while creating space for others to do the same. At its core, “YOU” is an invitation to look inward, to reconnect with purpose, and to remember that self-discovery and faith don’t exist separately, but together.

Christopher, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Christopher Simms, and I am a gospel recording artist, worship leader, vocal coach, pastor, speaker, mentor, and entrepreneur. At my core, I am a man who loves God, loves people, and is passionate about helping others discover and fulfill their God-given purpose.
Music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I realized that music is more than entertainment, it is a ministry. It has the power to encourage, heal, inspire, and remind people that they are not alone in their journey. That realization led me to pursue a career in gospel music and ministry, where I could share messages of faith, hope, perseverance, and God’s unfailing love.
As a gospel recording artist, I create music that speaks to real-life experiences. My songs are often inspired by personal challenges, victories, seasons of waiting, and moments where I have had to trust God even when I couldn’t see the outcome. Songs such as “Desperately Waiting” and my newest single, “Running To You,” reflect the heart of my ministry and my desire to point people back to God during every season of life.
Beyond recording and performing, I am the founder of Worship Worx LLC, a company dedicated to strengthening worship ministries and helping singers reach their full potential. Through vocal coaching, workshops, consultations, and worship team development, I work with churches, choirs, worship leaders, and individual vocalists to improve their technique, confidence, vocal health, and overall effectiveness in ministry.
I am also the creator of Project Y.O.U. (You Origin Unity), a movement designed to encourage individuals to discover their purpose, overcome obstacles, and maximize their God-given potential. Project Y.O.U. was born from my own journey of navigating challenges while pursuing God’s calling on my life. Through speaking engagements, mentorship, music, and personal development initiatives, the project inspires people to stop allowing fear, setbacks, or circumstances to define their future and instead embrace the opportunities that God has placed before them.
What sets me apart is my commitment to serving people both on and off the stage. Whether I am leading worship, coaching a singer, mentoring a young person, preaching a message, or performing in concert, my mission remains the same: to inspire people to grow spiritually, personally, and purposefully.
I am especially passionate about helping people understand that their current situation does not determine their destiny. Many people feel stuck, overlooked, discouraged, or unqualified, but I believe that God specializes in using ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things. Through my music, ministry, and leadership, I strive to remind people that there is purpose in every season and that God is still writing their story.
One of the things I am most proud of is the opportunity to impact lives through multiple platforms. Whether it is hearing that a song encouraged someone through a difficult season, seeing a worship team develop greater confidence, mentoring youth, or inspiring someone to pursue their dreams, those moments are the true rewards of what I do. For me, success is measured by lives changed and people empowered.
As I continue to grow as an artist, leader, and entrepreneur, my vision is to expand my reach through music, ministry, mentorship, media, and creative initiatives that help people discover who they are and what they were created to do. Everything connected to my brand is rooted in faith, authenticity, excellence, hope, and purpose.
If there is one thing I want readers to know about me, it is this: your circumstances do not have the final say over your life. No matter where you are in your journey, God has a purpose for you, there is still hope ahead, and your greatest days may still be in front of you.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Absolutely. The mission driving my creative journey is to help people find hope, discover purpose, and develop a deeper relationship with God. Everything I create; whether it’s a song, a sermon, a youth initiative, a worship training, or a mentoring opportunity, is rooted in that purpose.
I believe every person was created with intention and has a unique assignment to fulfill. Much of my work is centered around encouraging people not to give up during difficult seasons and reminding them that their current circumstances do not define their future. Through music and ministry, I strive to inspire people to keep moving forward, trust God’s plan, and embrace who He has called them to be.
As a gospel artist, I want my music to be more than something people listen to, I want it to be something they experience. My songs often reflect real-life struggles, faith journeys, and moments of hope because I want listeners to know they are not alone. If someone hears a song like “Desperately Waiting” or “Running To You” and finds the strength to keep believing, then I have accomplished something meaningful.
Beyond music, I am passionate about developing people. Through Worship Worx and Project Y.O.U., my goal is to equip worshippers, artists, and young people with the tools, confidence, and guidance they need to maximize their gifts and walk boldly in their purpose.
Ultimately, my mission can be summed up in three words: Find. Follow. Fulfill. I want to help people find God, follow His direction, and fulfill the purpose He has placed on their lives. If my creative work can inspire transformation, encourage faith, and help someone take their next step forward, then I consider that success.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One of the clearest examples of resilience in my journey is surviving seven documented heart attacks and continuing to pursue the purpose God has placed on my life.
There was a season when my health became one of the greatest challenges I had ever faced. Experiencing even one heart attack can change a person’s perspective on life. Experiencing seven forces you to confront your mortality in a way that few people ever have to. There were moments filled with uncertainty, fear, physical limitations, and difficult questions about the future.
During that time, I had to make a decision. I could allow my circumstances to define me, or I could allow them to develop me. While the recovery process was not always easy, it strengthened my faith and deepened my appreciation for every opportunity I have been given. It reminded me that every day is a gift and that purpose does not expire because adversity shows up.
Those experiences profoundly influenced my music, ministry, and outlook on life. They taught me not to take anything for granted; not my family, my calling, my health, or the opportunity to encourage others. They also gave me a greater sense of empathy for people who are fighting battles that others may never fully understand.
What makes this journey meaningful is that I am not simply sharing a story of survival. I am sharing a story of perseverance. Despite significant health challenges, I have continued to record music, lead worship, mentor young people, coach singers, preach the Gospel, and pursue the vision God has given me. Every song I sing, every stage I stand on, and every life I have the opportunity to impact is a reminder that my story is still being written.
The seven heart attacks are part of my testimony, but they are not the end of it. If anything, they have reinforced my belief that purpose is stronger than adversity. My journey has taught me that challenges may alter the path, but they do not have to stop the mission. That perspective continues to drive everything I do today.
