We recently connected with Jo Gore and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Jo, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
“Hold You Like My Peace” was written from a place of reflection on what it really means to feel safe with someone—not just romantically, but emotionally and spiritually steady. The idea came together through moments of thinking about love as something that can calm the noise of life, not add to it. When it came time to record it, I chose to capture it live to preserve that honesty. Instead of overworking the production, I leaned into a raw performance where the vocals, timing, and emotion could breathe naturally. Recording it live made the song feel more like a moment than a product—like something happening in real time rather than something manufactured—so listeners could hear the sincerity in every line the way it was first felt.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello! My name is Jo Gore. I am a singer, song writer, who’s work includes recorded music, live performances, and performance-based content such as live session recordings.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
I want to use music to create real presence in a fast, distracted world—whether through live performances, stripped-down recordings, or storytelling that makes listeners feel like they’re not alone in what they’re going through.
I would also like to tour internationally with a full band.

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Working with other incredibly talented musicians
