Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Linda Storm. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Linda, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
My life is my most meaningful project. It becomes more precious as I continue to have birthdays I never thought I’d see. Expressing myself creatively was always a natural way of being for me. As a child, I found delight outside in nature. In my room, I danced till my feet were sore. During quiet times I read fairy tales, myths, and legends about heroines and goddesses and magic. All I needed was a pencil, crayons and paper (or a wall) to draw them into being. Decades later, I continue to paint the divine feminine in enchanting realms that I call Mythical Realism.

Linda, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I learned from my first job as a pickle packer (yes, a pickle packer) that I am not capable of doing anything that destroys my sense of wonder just for money.
I became a Montessori teacher after researching education for my own children. Observing their innocent curiosity as they absorbed information with their spongy minds delighted me. During evenings and summers I’d create art and submit to exhibitions.
Then came a time when my path was dividing. I owned a gallery and was teaching full time. I had a major pivot when I received an invitation to premier my goddess paintings in Tuscany, Italy. I said goodbye to my students and traveled to Italy with my art. Since then, I have visited beautiful places around the world to show and create art. Chateau Orquevaux Art Residency in France was my favorite. In Costa Rica I used banana leaves as palettes, and I discovered the most beautiful turquoise color in the water of the Ionian Sea. Trusting my path will continue to reveal places for me to be creative fills me with gratitude.
My husband Gary Storm travels with me. He is a radio DJ and musician. We moved to his home state of New Mexico from Buffalo, NY thirty-three years ago. Our studios are the most important rooms in our house. We support each other in all ways possible in our creative and daily lives. It’s wonderful to have a partner in life.
We recently purchased an old adobe house in the City of Santa Fe, NM, to renovate into an art and music haven we call The StormHold. (TheStormHold.com) The idea came to me in a dream during Covid. At one point it became such an overwhelming and personally expensive project that we decided to sell the property. However, we refused all the offers. I laugh now, because I realize that every time I felt fear about something and tried to push it away,I was never able to, instead it became my challenge. Now, on a daily basis, I greet many as opportunities for me to be a creative problem solver.
The StormHold is now my passion and my happy place and I trust that it will be a source of inspiration to many others. It is there where I will show my art, and where we will spin records, share stories, and present live music, dinners, and meaningful conversations with small groups. We will also rent it for special occasions, and are leasing a permanent space to the marvelous Guy in the Groove record store. Our vision for The StormHold is to link a worldwide family through the arts, and what better place to do it in than a house built from of handmade mud bricks? The 100-year-old building was heated by wood stoves, so our next hurdle is to find funds for heating and air conditioning. In the meantime, I am preparing to open it for The Santa Fe Studio Tour during the last two weekends of June 2026. We will post the Grand Opening for The StormHold on my art site LindaStormArt.com and on TheStormHold.com.
My most important tools throughout any creative process are wonder and possibility. I hope that others find hope that their creativity will lead them to unimagined opportunities

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
Trusting my intuition, savoring and protecting my wonder, and responding with a yes to possibilities, has led me to taking risks and spending more money than non-creatives thought reasonable. The result? I feel gratitude everyday as I continue to remain curious and grow and learn. Creating and sharing my art, and inspiring others, gives my life meaning. I live to have fun and feel joy.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
Annoyance about the lack of equality for women drives me to create divine females that are equals to any other divine beings believed in today. I love to collaborate and look forward to working with other artists and musicians in the The StormHold. Come visit!
