We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Yvonda Seda. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Yvonda below.
Hi Yvonda, thanks for joining us today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
Absolutely. I’m very happy as a business owner. That doesn’t mean I never wonder what it would be like to have a traditional job where I can leave work at work. As an entrepreneur, there are always responsibilities waiting for your attention. But every time I consider that path, I come back to the same thing: I love the freedom to care for my clients in the way I believe they deserve.
I’ve been in the beauty industry since 2009 and have worked in luxury spas, day spas, medical practices, and med spas. Those experiences taught me valuable lessons and ultimately inspired me to open my own business over 10 years ago. What began as a leap of faith has grown into a career that allows me to combine my passion for skincare, education, and client care.
What keeps me here is the impact. The relationships I’ve built with clients go far beyond the services I provide. My goal has always been to create an experience rooted in trust, honesty, and exceptional care. While a traditional job may offer more simplicity, the fulfillment I get from building something meaningful and serving my clients on my own terms makes business ownership worth it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Yvonda Seda, and I am a licensed esthetician, educator, business owner, and mentor with over 17 years in the beauty industry. I began my career in 2009 and became a licensed esthetician in 2014, combining my passion for skincare, education, and helping others feel confident in their own skin.
I am the owner of Perfected Beauty, where I specialize in corrective skincare, waxing, sugaring, brows, and advanced skin treatments. Beyond providing services, I focus on educating clients about their skin and creating personalized treatment plans that support long-term results rather than quick fixes.
What sets me apart is my holistic approach. I believe healthy skin is influenced by much more than products alone, so I take the time to understand each client’s lifestyle, stress levels, habits, and overall wellness. My goal is to help people feel seen, heard, and empowered while achieving their skincare goals.
I am also passionate about education and mentorship within the beauty industry. As a licensed esthetics instructor, I enjoy helping other beauty professionals strengthen their skills, build sustainable businesses, and grow their confidence behind the treatment table.
One of my proudest accomplishments has been building an award-winning business while continuing to serve clients, educate professionals, and raise my family. More than any award or recognition, I am proud of the trust my clients place in me and the relationships I have built over the years.
I want people to know that my brand is rooted in excellence, integrity, continuous learning, and genuine care. Whether someone visits me for a treatment, attends one of my classes, or follows my work online, my goal is always the same: to help people feel confident, supported, and empowered to become the best version of themselves.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe my reputation has been built through a combination of consistency, education, and genuinely caring about the people I serve. Throughout my career, I have focused on continually improving my skills, staying current with industry advancements, and providing a high level of service to every client who walks through my door.
I have never been interested in simply performing treatments or adding every new trend. I want clients to understand their skin, feel comfortable asking questions, and leave feeling confident in the results they achieve. That commitment to education and personalized care has helped build trust, and trust is the foundation of any strong reputation.
I also believe in being authentic. Whether I’m working with clients, teaching fellow beauty professionals, or sharing knowledge online, I strive to be transparent, approachable, and honest. Over time, those relationships have led to referrals, loyal clients, industry recognition, and opportunities to educate others.
Most importantly, I have remained committed to excellence while never stopping my own learning. I think people recognize when someone is passionate about their craft and dedicated to serving others, and I believe that has played a significant role in building my reputation within the industry.

Have you ever had to pivot?
One of the biggest pivots in my life came when I became a mother again after an 18-year age gap between my children. When I started my business, my oldest daughter was already independent, and I had built my career around the freedom and flexibility that came with that stage of life. Suddenly, I found myself navigating entrepreneurship while caring for a newborn and later a toddler.
I quickly realized that the systems, schedules, and expectations that had worked for years were no longer sustainable. I had to redefine what success looked like, become more intentional with my time, and learn how to build a business that supported my family instead of competing with it.
That experience taught me that growth often requires adaptation. Rather than trying to operate the way I always had, I embraced new ways of working, prioritized what truly mattered, and focused on creating a business that could evolve alongside my life.
Looking back, that pivot made me a stronger business owner, leader, and parent. It reinforced the idea that success isn’t about doing things the way you’ve always done them – it’s about being willing to adjust, learn, and move forward when life presents a new chapter.
