We recently connected with Jennifer Dawn Gabiola and have shared our conversation below.
Jennifer Dawn, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
What I hope my legacy will be is to empower people to own their true essence and sacred self-expression. We are spiritual beings here to fully embody our core essence from the inside out. Everything that we go through in life is meant to strengthen our inner spirit and help us to fully own and express our greatness.
I learned just how powerful the human spirit was through my journey. My personal story became my testimony. Every challenge I have gone through has helped me to become who I am today. I am more kind and empathetic because I understand the struggles of being quiet, shy, bullied and unaccepted growing up. I understand what’s it’s like to prove your self-worth as a workaholic, control freak and perfectionist. I understand the pain of living with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I understand the importance of managing your precious energy as a introverted, empathic and highly sensitive entrepreneur. I understand the physical, emotional and spiritual demands of being a caregiver. Everything I have gone through has shaped me, strengthened me and deepened my spirit to become the person I AM today in order to prepare me for my destiny.
I know that everything that I have gone through was not just for me, but to help serve others on a similar journey. My business allows me I live out my sacred mission – to empower sensitive souls to own their true essence and express their powerful spirit through their sacred self-expression. It gives me great joy to help these leaders express their voice through heart-centered branding and marketing through compelling storytelling with imagery and words that move people deeply.
I am so honored that God chose me to express the dream that he placed deep in my heart as a part of my lasting legacy – to help people understand the sacred connection between Style and Spirit. Style is meant to be a sacred expression that allows you to feel the core essence of who you are and express the true power and beauty of your spirit from the inside out. By aligning with your inner spirit, your style becomes a sacred expression that powerfully embodies your divine presence and magnetic energy in an undeniable and impactful way.
Jennifer Dawn, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am Jennifer Dawn Gabiola. I am a proud Filipina-American. I am a soul-inspired branding expert. But at the heart, I am visionary, artist and poet. Personally, I love going out to eat and enjoying incredible food. And I absolutely love vintage shopping.
Through my business Dawning Soul, I help quiet and fierce introverts, empaths and highly sensitive leaders make a big impact with their business. I take a holistic approach to branding and marketing to help my clients express the true essence of who they are from the inside out. I love supporting my clients through heart-centered strategy, exquisite design and soulful personal presence and style. My current offerings are my “Sacred” embodied style program, “Quiet Voice Big Impact” branding & marketing program, “Master Your Energy. Master Your Impact” Masterclass and 1:1 private coaching. And I’m excited to share that next year marks my 10-Year Anniversary of my “Spirit of S.T.Y.L.E.” Book.
How I got into the coaching industry was divinely guided. Before I started my own business, I had a successful 12-year career as a Design Director. Around that time, I was also diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I ended up losing that job and my health. This became a major turning point in my life. I lost everything that I thought was me because I based my self-worth on everything outside of me – my career, my success and my self-image. Shortly thereafter, I heard God say to me to put my personal poetry on t-shirts. My ego was like, “How are you going to make money doing that?” But because I had already lost everything, I had nothing to lose. So I went for it.
This started my entrepreneurial journey. I didn’t have a master plan. I walked in faith one step at a time. I sold my poetic tees at boutiques around Houston and started an online shop on Etsy. I even got the incredible opportunity to showcase my poetic tees at Houston Fashion Week.
But there was a part of me that wanted to serve on an even deeper level. Everything then came full circle to what I am doing now. Over the past 13-years in my coaching business, I use my passion for branding, marketing, design, sacred style and spirituality to help my fellow introverts, empaths and highly sensitive leaders authentically build impactful brands based on the true essence of who they are.
The problem I solve for my clients is helping introverts, empaths and highly sensitive souls to stop holding back and hiding in their business to feel safe to be truly seen and heard. I help them unlock their innate power to show up authentically and serve through their divine calling. I truly believe you can be quiet AND fierce. We are naturally built with rich inner worlds with unmatched quiet power. We feel deeply. We are intuitive, empathic and can see beauty in the unseen. We have so many superpowers and I love empowering these sensitive souls to unapologetically show up and lead in their own way within their lives and businesses.
What sets me apart from others is my belief that the key to living at your highest potential is to connect with the true essence of your spirit. Your essence holds the core qualities of who you innately are and is meant to be fully expressed in your life and business. When you fully embody your essence and express your energy from the inside out, you unlock your rare and sacred magic.
How I discovered my true essence was through style. Style is meant to be a deeply sacred practice to express the core essence of who you are from the inside out. God gave me an acronym for S.T.Y.L.E. which stands for “Spiritually Translating Your Life’s Essence™.” (I always get goosebumps when I share that). When I lost my successful career and my health, what helped me come back home to myself was my style. I instinctively gave myself permission to feel my way forward. I noticed what vintage pieces spoke to my soul and gave me life. I followed my joy and adorned myself with beauty. My style became my way of communing with God and my inner spirit as a divine and sacred expression of God’s love and beauty fully expressed through me. My style captures my sacred frequency and how I energetically move in the world. As an introvert, I love making a statement without having to say a word. My vibe speaks for itself. When I feel myself, the right people feel me. Genuine connections are naturally made by creating real heart resonance.
What I am most proud of is that I have never given up on myself or the vision God placed in my heart. I know with every fiber of my being that everything I have ever gone through has helped me to become the person I AM today. I see challenges as divine opportunities to unlock deeper parts of your greatness. And to receive the grace and wisdom needed to prepare for bigger blessings in the future. I bravely faced pain from the past and broke ancestral patterns of oppression. I made the conscious choice to end negative generational cycles in order to create generational blessings. I am showing up fully as who God created me to BE. And I bravely play my part in my ancestral line and for humanity as a whole.
What I want potential clients/followers/fans to know about me/my brand/my work is the meaning behind Dawning Soul. My middle name is Dawn. A dear friend of mine came up with this beautiful name for my business. I love that Dawn means “always new and ever-evolving.” I truly believe we are all ever-evolving souls here to make our lasting mark on the world by BE-ing and expressing our fullest, most authentic selves. As we heal and evolve, so does every life that we touch. We are meant to BE the embodiment of God’s love in action. That’s the mission behind my business – to empower soulful sensitive leaders to unapologetically and freely show up in their full authenticity to make their greatest impact in their lives and businesses.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is co-creating with God and all of Life to bring forth fresh and original ideas and art through you. It feels so magical to be so fully immersed in your creative process to bring your ideas to life. It’s truly life-affirming to feel the creative impulse of your inspiration and see it become a reality. As an artist, I feel honored to be used as a powerful channel to allow divine inspiration to come to life through me.
In my business, I love using both my strategic, analytical side and my creative, intuitive side. I truly believe you need both logic and intuition to create fresh and original solutions that serve your client’s creative vision and inspired goals. True artistry allows you to innovate and move people to deeply feel in order to make a lasting impact.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
A story from my journey that illustrates my resilience is becoming a caregiver for my Mom. A few years ago she had an accident that compromised her mobility which caused her to need more support with daily living.
My brother and I take turns caring for her. I decided to live with my Mom part-time to give her the support she needed. This decision felt like the right thing to do for our family.
Learning to be a caregiver has been the most challenging and rewarding thing I have ever done in my life. I just figured it out as I went. Because I didn’t realize the physical and emotional demand of being a caregiver, I became completely exhausted. I had to learn not only how best to take care of my Mom, but also how to best take care of me.
I know that God placed me in this caregiving role because he trusts me. I had to learn how to let go of so much in order to sustain myself. I had to let go of control and be fully present in order to effectively take care of my Mom. Being so present allowed me to let go of anxiety and overthinking. I surrendered and trusted the process one step at a time. I learned to be incredibly resilient and built such a strong sense of inner fortitude.
I learned to be so much more patient, gentle and kind. With others and especially myself. When I would feel moments of frustration, I had to give myself and my Mom grace. I feel like I have become a much more loving, compassionate and whole human being.
And through this caregiving process, I gained an even stronger connection with God. During the night, I would help my Mom go to the restroom. It was during these early morning hours when I would hear God the clearest. Being physically exhausted actually allowed me to let go of my mind. I became so much more open to receive. In these golden hours, I received so much guidance and wisdom from God. I had never heard him so clearly. It was through this sacred stillness that I was able to communicate with God in a way where I felt so seen, heard, understood, validated. And deeply loved. He created a safe space for me to feel all my feelings and gave me guidance on how to move through my pain. And on the other side of my resistance, I found new levels of self-love, self-awareness, and inner strength.
God works in the most mysterious ways. I am deeply humbled and grateful for this caregiving role to help my Mom heal. Caring for my Mom has shown me how truly sacred life is. It was through this experience that God lovingly showed me who He created me to BE and how truly unlimited I AM. Through his grace, I bravely live my life leading with my spirit. I trust that God is guiding me to greater levels of my destiny. I am so grateful that my life is my living legacy.
