We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful La’Haven Jones. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with La’Haven below.
La’Haven, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about a project that’s meant a lot to you?
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on was a film I recently completed where I played the lead character, a successful lawyer who once lived a life connected to the streets and gang culture but ultimately overcame those circumstances. Despite building a successful career and changing her life, she found herself constantly being pulled back into dysfunction because of her loyalty and desire to help the people she loved from her old neighborhood. What made this role so meaningful to me was how layered and realistic the character was. She represented resilience, growth, and the internal battle that many people face when they’re trying to evolve while still feeling emotionally tied to where they came from. It wasn’t just about playing a lawyer it was about portraying someone who beat the odds but still struggled with the weight of responsibility, survival, loyalty, and identity.
The backstory behind the project also made it special because this was one of my biggest creative opportunities. Being cast in a lead role challenged me emotionally and artistically. I had long filming days, script readings, wardrobe fittings, and moments where I really had to tap into vulnerability to make the character feel authentic.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
My name is La’Haven Jones, and I’m someone who’s deeply passionate about growth, storytelling, creativity, and resilience. Professionally, I work in the chemical manufacturing industry, where I’ve built a reputation for being dependable, adaptable, and willing to step into challenging environments that require discipline and precision. At the same time, creatively, I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, self-expression, and creating work that connects with people on a deeper emotional level. My journey into the creative space started from simply wanting to express real experiences and emotions in a way that people could genuinely feel and connect with. Over time, that passion evolved into acting, modeling, fashion shows, video shoots, writing, and developing creative ideas centered around authenticity and empowerment. I’ve always loved the ability that art and media have to inspire people, shift perspectives, and tell stories that resonate beyond entertainment alone. Recently, one of my proudest accomplishments was being cast as the lead in a film where I portrayed a successful lawyer who once lived a life connected to the streets and gang culture but eventually overcame those circumstances. Although the character became successful, she still found herself pulled back into dysfunction through loyalty and love for the people she came from. That role resonated deeply with me because it reflected the reality that growth is rarely linear. Sometimes people evolve externally long before they fully heal internally from the environments that shaped them. Bringing that story to life challenged me emotionally and creatively and reminded me how impactful authentic storytelling can truly be. In addition to acting, I also model, participate in fashion shows, and appear in video shoots, all of which allow me to express different sides of my creativity and confidence. Fashion and modeling have become another form of storytelling for me, a way to embody emotion, energy, elegance, strength, and individuality without always needing words. I enjoy being part of projects that allow creativity, vision, and personality to come together in a powerful way. Beyond entertainment and media, I’m passionate about creating spaces centered around transparency, self-awareness, healing, elevation, and honest conversations about life, relationships, ambition, and identity. My long-term goals include continuing to expand my presence in film, modeling, media, podcasting, and writing meaningful projects that represent resilience, transformation, vulnerability, and perseverance. What sets me apart is my authenticity. I don’t believe in pretending to have a perfect story. I believe people connect most through honesty, relatability, confidence, and growth. Everything I create or pursue comes from a genuine place and is rooted in ambition, resilience, purpose, and evolution. More than anything, I want people to know that my brand and my work represent transformation. I want my audience to feel inspired, empowered, and reminded that where you start in life does not have to determine where you finish.

Looking back, are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Yes, absolutely. One of the biggest things I wish I knew earlier in my creative journey was the importance of networking, branding, and simply putting myself out there consistently. Early on, I think a lot of creatives focus only on talent, but I’ve learned that visibility, relationships, and confidence are just as important as the craft itself.
I also wish I had known more about the business side of the creative industry, things like contracts, marketing yourself, building a personal brand, protecting your image, and understanding your value before entering rooms and opportunities. A lot of creatives undervalue themselves in the beginning simply because they don’t fully understand the industry yet.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
In my view, one of the biggest ways society can better support artists and creatives is by recognizing that creativity is real work and not just a hobby. Many creatives invest years into developing their craft, building confidence, networking, creating content, and funding their own projects long before they ever receive recognition or financial stability. Supporting creatives starts with valuing their time, talent, vision, and contributions.
