We were lucky to catch up with Shawn Valentino recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Shawn thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I am extremely happy as a movie producer and the star of The Bachelor movie franchise. It allows me to explore my creative spirit while also working with an amazing team of talented artists. I never wonder what it would like to have a regular job because it looks miserable, and would not want to be on a strict schedule. It is always better to create you own universe and make a living off your lifestyle, meaning projects that you really enjoy. It never crossed my mind that it would be better to pursue a normal job. Life should be an adventure.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started off in the industry doing reality shows and talk shows and getting interviewed by celebrities such as Dr. Phil, Tyra Banks, Jerry Springer, Joe Rogan, George Lopez, etc. It was an exciting start to my entertainment career, but my real passion began when we started The Bachelor movie saga, a James Bond style parody series. It has been exciting to bring back spoof movies as well as work with a beautiful young cast of models and actresses. We are providing audiences escapism into a world of fantasy. I am proud that we are keeping the old school Bond spirit alive. Our movies are available on Tubi and Prime Video, including The Bachelor Party, It’s a Wonderful Lifestyle and THe Bachelor Murder Mystery. If you want pure escapism and silliness, then these will be your type of movies.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Our movies are parodies of the Mission: Impossible series so one of our missions is to make movies our own way and creating one movie each year with epic movie premieres. The ultimate goal is to create the largest spoof franchise of all time!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of creating movies is our movie premieres, which are like old fashioned classic Hollywood events. We tell audiences that “we make movies for the big screen,” and there is nothing like showcasing a movie in front of a theater full of people to provide them a window into our world.
