We were lucky to catch up with Virginie Madistin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Virginie , thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
AT GIGIINC our mission is to help girls win the mental, physical and emotional battles of adolescence. GIGIINC was birth from my very own pain and struggles with insecurity and lowself-esteem. At the age of 19 I experienced traumatic weight loss and lost my identity. I went from a confident size 26 to an insecure size 6.The journey back to loving myself was a difficult one and a lonely one it was then I realized my mission and the reason I endured that difficult experience. I went through it so I can help others get through it. I gave birth to GIGIINC which is a nonprofit confidence building organization for adolescent girls.

Virginie , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My Name is Virginie Madistin
I am the Founder and CEO of (GIGI INC.)Girls Igniting Greater Inner Strength Inc. which is a nonprofit confidence building organization for adolescent girls. We offer courses, mentorship programs, events and camps to empower girls virtually and in person.
At GIGI Inc. We believe in bringing up the next generation of girls to become confident women. We aim to change statistical data that says 80% of teen girls suffer from low self esteem. Our online programs, workshops , conferences and retreats instill biblical principles that teach girls to embrace their God given beauty beyond any societal limit, label or measurement. We not only aim to break down barriers that have been implemented by societal views, but we aim to implement God’s word and provide adolescent girls with the necessary tools to walk in confidence in mind, body, and soul. It is our hope that the next generation of girls won’t feel the need to compare themselves to a manufactured idea of beauty that has been airbrushed and photoshopped because they will embrace their true beauty and ignite greater inner-strength.
As an Organization we pride ourselves on the word IGNITE.
Integrity – do the right thing even when no one is watching
Generosity – a giving spirit
Noble Character –Be dignified
Individuality – Be you, Be Real, Be Authentic
Thankfulness – Give thanks with a grateful heart

This December GIGI INC Celebrates 5 years of Existence and service to our community. In Celebration of our five-year anniversary, we want to take our generosity to new heights by doing something we have never done before. This is history in the making for GIGIINC! Just this year we launched Girls Igniting Academy, a virtual confidence building academy with the intent to ignite confidence in the lives of adolescent girls globally. Within our first six months we have already started expanding our reach by adding our first international student to our academy all the way from Ghana, Africa. We have Partnered with Ve Deme Volta Home Orphanage in Ghana to donate Bags of Generosity to the children there facing economic hardships. James 1:27 says “Religion that God our father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” December 6th-19th GIGIINC will complete its annual philanthropy project and first mission trip to GHANA to donate bags of Generosity to 100 children at Ve DEME Home Orphanage. We are excited about all the wonderful things we are doing as an organization and invite you to learn more about us.
Please take a moment to learn a bit more about me and about the organization I have blessed and trusted to lead.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I have always been the creator of my destiny. Since I was in the 6th grade My whole life has been planned. I Knew which college I would attend when I was in the 6th grade needless to say I am a planner. But what happens when the plan does not go as planned. 2 years ago I made a career move and had to uproot my life in order to continue in the pathways of success. I went from a top selling insurance agent to a registered Nurse. The sales industry is not consistent and despite being a top seller and performer I decided I needed more consistency in my life. It was a very difficult process and the transition required faith, and tenacity. 2 weeks ago I graduated from Nursing School as an RN.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Growing up we are taught to go to school and get an education. We are taught o focus on a career path and never to stray away from them. My life however has been everything but that. I had to unlearn the notion that you can only be good at one thing, I can be a Jill of many trades and I can master them all.
