We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Leigh Canada Trahan a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, Leigh thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?

Diagnosed as a baby with severe allergic reactions to the most common antibiotics, 35+ years with the same company (which 20 of those years I worked from home) and within a 13-year span I lost three of the most important people in my life (my mother, daughter and brother) the isolated lifestyle settled in which led me to shame and feeling abandoned and lonely. I successfully shifted my emotions (through inner work) to acceptance of life and educate myself in a holistic lifestyle.

The loss of the three most important people (mother, brother and daughter) created grief; each day I share that story how grieving has forever stages and is acceptable as well as having a career since I was 19 years old carried, I accepted the sense of loss of my adulthood life. I felt my entrepreneur purpose was buried yet I was captivated to increase my business knowledge. I still knew I had some unfinished goals in my life especially since owning my own businesses and helping other there was a sense of joy during those times. I was determined to seek my purpose NOT my passion.

I knew the whispers I have heard for many years were telling me remember your purpose and rediscover your gifts. I spent countless hours and money researching ways to heal internally my shame to my allergies, grief of my loved ones and years spent behind a desk and the four walls. Knowing that my purposes was to be creative, to be an entrepreneur and to help others achieve their creative entrepreneur dream.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

In 2020, I decided to say YES to my dream. I want to coach and develop entrepreneurs, strategize and put action plans in place to execute their business. New Creative Entrepreneurs – are investors in their talent!

I invested at this time minimum of 500 hours and over 10K to become certified, i have worked with other coaches that specialize in areas I felt I needed to increase my knowledge and reintroduced myself to the industries tools that support an entrepreneur’s success. I put in the work, I pulled together what I learned through the years from being a leader in the corporate world; project management, process development to be able to create valuable content that supports a new entrepreneur’s development journey. All about being Accountable to reaching your Zenith. I took all my love and knowledge to create a strategy plan that will help new entrepreneurs execute and grow their business (and self) from the ground up.
I call this my A-to-Z strategies.

I built relationships that are now considered part of my ask a friend! I took the leap and become officially certified in coaching and professional aromatherapy this past few years to confidently be able to say I am an Entrepreneur Development Coach and Creator of the Business Conditioning System where I am able to develop new entrepreneurs to be aware, to understand self while focusing on brand building, goals and long-term growth.

I have created themed boxes that cater to the mind, body and soul for an entrepreneur and their daily routines. Aromatherapy is one of the oldest holistic healthy treatments that I feel entrepreneurs could use help work through those days/evenings of frustration, imposter syndrome, limited beliefs, self-judging, etc.

I am humbled to continue to honor my daughter Emonie Deandrea Canada 11/13/99 to 8/2/18 with Emonie’s Closet. Emonie’s Closet is a nonprofit that provides youth in in foster care and those aged out with free clothing shopping experience. We serve the State of Georgia, all genders, ages and sizes. Established on 8/2/19 we have served to date over 5000 youths and families that were in need of clothing.

I am here to lead and serve simply as that!

Does your business have multiple or supplementary revenue streams (like a ATM machine at a barbershop, etc)?

Due to my allergies, I have learned whether taught by my grandfather or becoming certified in my later years to incorporate herbs and essential oils into my daily life. Knowing that both herbs and essentials made a significant impact in me and my business I decided to incorporate them both into my coaching business.

Having multiple streams of income that lead up to the benefit of a person growth has been my journey.

My L.A.B. stands for, Leighism Aromatherapy Blends. I create Mind, Body and Soul themed boxes specifically for entrepreneurs or as gifts. Example of some of the box items are Milk Tea Baths, Massage Oils, Affirmation Cards, Crystals, Roll Ons and many more. Few themes I have done – Ancestors, Fitness, Empress and Burlesque.

I am selling via my website or at local vendor events. Having this supplementary income not only provides additional cash flow but increases my clients with Leighism: The Entrepreneur Agency

Can you talk to us about manufacturing? How’d you figure it all out? We’d love to hear the story.

The discovery of my natural creative entrepreneur gifts came at a young age – spending spring and summer days in my very own space of the earth in my grandfather’s backyard garden (I grew up in Boston so time was limited in the garden) where he taught me about how wild rhubarb, dandelions and fresh vegetables would build my immune system and some of the basic herbs like rosemary and basil could be made into a tea that I can drink all year round and cook with to help me feel better physically and mentally. Some of the homemade remedies I hold dare to my heart and continue to use.

My mother would put a pot of water with eucalyptus leaves on the radiator or hot tea with lavender, rooibos and green tea to combat any congestion issues; no over the counter remedies for me only natural decongestants due to my allergies to antibiotics and over the counter medicines.

Fast forward, I decided to further my knowledge by becoming a certified professional aromatherapist and “manufacture” my own products. So, each essential oil blend whether it is a roll on or diffuser I personally make. Sometimes in bulk or a signature blend. I wouldn’t feel comfortable outsourcing my blends because of the personal attention I give to each of my clients and blends. I even package and create my own labels at this time reason I call it My L.A.B.
