We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kristian Gilmore. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kristian below.
Kristian , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear the story of how you went from this being just an idea to making it into something real.
Sometimes as creatives, we get so focused on the idea and even the planning stage that it never makes it out of the storyboard. At first, that can feel inspiring, but eventually it becomes a distant memory, stuck in its infant stage instead of becoming full grown. You have to accept that it won’t be perfect. Jesus will provide along the way (Matthew 6:33), and things can work out, but it doesn’t work unless you do. It’s the same “cliché” advice we’ve heard over and over again, but it’s still true. For me, it started with, “I have an idea.” Then came the internal work of understanding who I was and whether the project was meant for now or later, but you can’t stay there too long.
After that came structure, and honestly, this is where I failed — not for a moment, but sometimes for years. You need contracts, invoices, a business plan… documentation. Yes, make it beautiful and pray as you go, but also build structure that can guide and protect your vision. Fight the laziness, even on the days you’re not motivated. This process becomes easier when you actually do the work, not just wishing it would happen, but knowing it can if you truly have faith and apply yourself. The world will try to stand in your way, but you better not stand in your own.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Kristian. I’m 28 years old, and I believe I was born to tell stories through different forms of media while encouraging and inspiring people through both my faith and their own calling. Since I was young, I’ve always wanted to create things for others and express life through art. Today, we understand that as content creation, but for me, it has always been deeper than trends or algorithms.
I’m a YouTuber, storyteller, aspiring photographer, and motivational speaker. I want people to create memories, know themselves deeply, and believe in their future. There is always a “next” in life, and while we often experience that through our phones now, it really starts in the mind first. I believe impact can come through a video, a photo, or an inspiring message — the real triple threat.
I’m proud to be a vessel for this work. Not in a boastful way, but in an honest one. I truly believe I was designed for something specific, and I had to learn to stop hiding from it, live freely in it, and help others do the same. Life gets busy, and sometimes we forget to remember. Through these creative outlets, I want to help people remember who they are, where they’ve been, and where they’re capable of going.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Simply put, I’m sharing the gospel through my life and through my work. I went back and forth so many times about the woman I’m becoming because of my faith — the good, the bad, and the interesting representations of it. I was nervous thinking, “Is this all that I am?” But the truth is, no. God doesn’t call me to be just one thing. He calls me to let Him be my foundation.
Through my faith, I’ve learned so much about business — the heart you should have, how to conduct yourself, how to protect your vision, and how to carry it with purpose. It’s honestly true that there’s a verse for every verse; wisdom is already there if you’re willing to look for it.
I understand that people have their reservations, but I’ve learned to stick with the struggle and lean into all of it — even what it can produce. I choose curiosity as my starting point, and then I move forward from there.
I’m not religious in the traditional sense — I’m rooted in relationship. That difference matters in my heart posture and how I live this out.
And honestly, seeing the ideas in my head come to life keeps me inspired. I admire the people who simply create and release — the big names and the ones who haven’t been recognized yet. That courage to just make and share is something I’m learning to fully step into.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
The narrative always changes with age and time, but don’t let it dictate what you were sent here to do. Age be damned, honestly — you are always going to have something on your heart: a goal, a dream, a plan.
Think about yourself as a kid. You probably wanted to be so many things from one day to the next, always changing careers, always imagining, always creating. Somewhere along the way, we get told that “adulting” means putting those so-called childish or imaginary things away, as if they’re distractions. Some may be, yes — but I’m willing to bet that one of those “childlike” things might actually be your calling when you’re older.
In my early 20s it was always, “I have time.” And I did. But when I turned 28, it shifted into, “Am I too old?” And I know if you’re 50 plus, you might roll your eyes at that, but stick with me — that conversation starts earlier than people think, especially depending on your career, your relationship status, or whether you have children. It becomes the quiet induction into the rest of your life.
But ultimately, let God decide the timing. You’re going to want to fight it, but what is meant for you will unfold as designed. The real work is letting go of control and actually enjoying your life while it happens.
