We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Alina Ustinova a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alina, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Learning the craft is often a unique journey from every creative – we’d love to hear about your journey and if knowing what you know now, you would have done anything differently to speed up the learning process.
My journey in the beauty industry has been built through continuous education, international competitions, teaching, and years of consistent practice. Over time, I realized that true professional growth comes not only from developing your own artistic skills, but also from helping other artists grow.
Today, education and mentorship are a major part of my work. I train beauty professionals, work with artists preparing for international championships, and help students develop both technical precision and creative confidence. Watching students grow professionally and achieve results at competitions is one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that success in this industry requires much more than talent alone. Discipline, consistency, attention to detail, and the willingness to continuously learn are essential. International competitions especially teach you how to work under pressure, think creatively, and maintain high professional standards.
Throughout my journey, I’ve continued to study advanced techniques, participate in international beauty projects, and expand my experience through professional collaborations and competitions. Being part of the international beauty community has allowed me to exchange knowledge with artists from different countries and continuously evolve as both an artist and educator.
I also believe mentorship plays a huge role in professional development. Having guidance, support, and strong professional environments can accelerate growth and help artists reach a much higher level in their careers. That experience later inspired me to focus more deeply on education and preparing others for professional opportunities and competitions.
Currently, I continue teaching and preparing artists for international championships while also developing my own professional and creative projects. I’m involved in preparations connected to Team USA’s participation in the OMC World Cup Paris 2026, which is an exciting and meaningful stage of my professional journey.
For me, learning the craft never truly ends. The beauty industry constantly evolves, and staying open to new ideas, techniques, and artistic challenges is what keeps both artists and educators growing.

Alina, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I started in the beauty industry because I’ve always loved creativity and the idea of turning beauty into art. Over time, this passion grew into something much bigger – competitions, education, mentorship, and working with artists who want to grow professionally.
Today, a big part of my work is education. I train beauty artists in makeup, brows, nail design, and competition preparation, helping them improve their techniques, build confidence, and prepare for professional opportunities and international championships. Seeing students grow and become stronger in their craft is one of the most rewarding parts of my journey.
My work combines creativity with discipline and technical precision. I believe beauty is not only about appearance – it’s also about confidence, self-expression, and personal growth. International competitions especially taught me patience, consistency, attention to detail, and the importance of continuously learning and evolving as an artist.
I also enjoy working on creative projects and collaborating with artists from different backgrounds. Being involved in international beauty events has allowed me to meet inspiring professionals, exchange experiences, and continue developing both artistically and professionally.
Currently, I continue teaching, participating in international beauty championships, and working on creative projects connected to Team USA and the OMC World Championship in Paris 2026.
One of the things I value most about this profession is the opportunity to help artists grow not only technically, but also personally and professionally.
“Helping artists believe in themselves is just as important as teaching technique.”

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, one of the most rewarding parts of being an artist is seeing growth – both in myself and in the people I work with. Of course, I love the creative side of beauty, competitions, and artistic projects, but what means the most to me today is education and mentorship.
Working with beauty artists and helping them improve their skills, gain confidence, and prepare for professional opportunities or championships is incredibly fulfilling. I love seeing someone become stronger in their craft, believe in themselves more, and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach.
I also enjoy the process of creating competition work because it constantly pushes me creatively and professionally. Every project teaches you something new – whether it’s discipline, patience, teamwork, or learning how to think outside the box. International championships especially helped me grow not only as an artist, but also as a person.
Another rewarding part of this industry is the opportunity to connect with creative people from different countries and backgrounds. Beauty is such an international language, and being part of that community is very inspiring.
Right now, I continue participating in international beauty projects and championships while also working with artists connected to Team USA and preparations related to the OMC World Championship in Paris 2026.
For me, success is not only about personal achievements – it’s also about helping other artists grow and finding inspiration together through creativity and education.
“Helping artists grow with confidence is one of the most meaningful parts of my journey.”

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
One of the biggest goals driving my creative journey is helping artists grow professionally and believe in their potential. Over time, I realized that beauty education is about much more than technique alone – it’s also about confidence, discipline, creativity, and personal growth.
I want to continue building an environment where artists can develop their skills, explore their creativity, and prepare for bigger professional opportunities, including international competitions and industry projects. Watching artists become stronger, more confident, and proud of their work is incredibly motivating for me.
Another important part of my journey is continuing to grow as an artist myself. The beauty industry evolves constantly, and I always want to keep learning, improving my techniques, and challenging myself creatively. Competitions and international projects especially inspire me because they push artists to think outside the box and continuously develop their craft.
I also enjoy developing my own techniques and educational methods, then sharing that knowledge and experience with other artists through training, mentorship, and creative projects. For me, education is not only about teaching skills — it’s about helping artists discover their own artistic style and professional direction.
I’m passionate about representing artistic beauty work on an international level and being part of projects that connect creative professionals from different countries and backgrounds. Experiences like international championships and collaborative creative projects have had a huge influence on my growth both professionally and personally.
For me, the most meaningful mission is to continue growing, creating, and helping other artists discover their own strength and artistic voice.
“True growth happens when creativity, discipline, and confidence come together.”
