We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Alejandra Domínguez. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Alejandra below.
Alright, Alejandra thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
One of the biggest risks my husband and I ever took was leaving behind our entire lives in Venezuela to start over in the United States with our children. We were both attorneys with established careers, stability, and a professional identity we had worked years to build. But deep down, we knew we wanted something greater for our family: safety, freedom, opportunity, and peace.
Starting over was not glamorous. We arrived in a new country where we had to rebuild everything from scratch — financially, emotionally, and professionally. We faced uncertainty, culture shock, fear, and moments where we questioned ourselves. Like many immigrant families, we took jobs outside our professions, learned new industries, adapted quickly, and kept moving forward even when things felt overwhelming.
Then came another major risk: during the pandemic, while the world was slowing down and many businesses were closing, we decided to build our own company. We launched Family Pool 360 with determination, faith, and the mindset that if we were going to work hard, it would be toward building something meaningful for our family and community.
At the beginning, we did everything ourselves. We learned operations, customer service, scheduling, marketing, repairs, relationships, and the importance of consistency. We didn’t have investors or a perfect roadmap. What we did have was resilience, discipline, and a genuine commitment to people.
Over time, that risk transformed our lives. Family Pool 360 became recognized throughout Palm Beach County, not only because of the quality of our work, but because clients could feel the care, integrity, and human connection behind the business. What started as survival became purpose.
Now we are preparing to expand into the construction industry, which represents yet another leap of faith and growth for us. But one thing entrepreneurship has taught me is that meaningful growth rarely happens inside comfort zones.
Looking back, every major blessing in our lives began with a moment where we chose courage over certainty. And sometimes, taking the risk is the very thing that allows you to discover who you truly are capable of becoming.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
Our story began long before the company itself. We were both attorneys in Venezuela and made the difficult decision to move to the United States in search of safety, freedom, and a better future for our children. Like many immigrant families, we had to start over completely, adapt to a new culture, and reinvent ourselves professionally.
During the pandemic, we decided to turn uncertainty into opportunity, and that is how Family Pool 360 was born. What started as a small family project became a company recognized throughout Palm Beach County for professionalism, trust, and genuine human connection with clients.
We specialize in residential and commercial pool maintenance, repairs, and service. But beyond maintaining pools, we help families protect one of the most meaningful spaces in their homes — a place where memories are created, people relax, and families come together. Our mission has always been to provide peace of mind, honesty, communication, and exceptional service.
I believe what truly sets us apart is how we make people feel. In an industry where service can often feel impersonal, we focus on building relationships. We listen, communicate, care about the details, and operate with integrity. To us, every client represents trust, not just another account.
One of the things I am most proud of is proving that it is possible to rebuild your life from zero through discipline, resilience, and purpose. I am also passionate about inspiring other women, immigrants, and entrepreneurs to believe in themselves, even during difficult seasons of life.
Today, we continue to grow and expand into construction and outdoor living projects while maintaining the same values that built our company from the beginning: hard work, humanity, and vision.
More than building a business, we are building a family legacy rooted in service, community, and perseverance.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for us has always been relationships and word-of-mouth referrals.
From the beginning, we understood that people don’t just recommend a company because of the service itself — they recommend how that company made them feel. At Family Pool 360, we’ve focused on creating trust, consistency, communication, and genuine human connection with every client we serve.
As immigrants starting from zero, we didn’t begin with a large marketing budget or major connections. What we did have was work ethic, authenticity, and the determination to build a reputation based on integrity and reliability. One satisfied client led to another. Families recommended us to neighbors, realtors referred us to homeowners, and relationships within the community naturally helped our business grow throughout Palm Beach County.
Social media has also become a valuable extension of that trust. Instead of focusing only on selling services, we share our journey, our family values, behind-the-scenes moments, business growth, and real interactions with clients and the community. People connect with authenticity, and I believe that today clients want to support businesses they genuinely trust and relate to.
Another key factor has been consistency. In service industries, trust is built over time. Showing up, communicating clearly, solving problems quickly, and treating people with respect creates long-term relationships. Many of our clients have stayed with us for years, and referrals continue to be one of the strongest indicators that we are doing something right.
I’ve learned that marketing can attract attention, but reputation is what sustains growth. The most powerful form of advertising will always be a client who genuinely believes in your work and feels confident recommending your company to others.
For us, every relationship matters because behind every client is a person trusting us with part of their home, their time, and their peace of mind.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe our reputation within the market has been built through consistency, trust, and the way we treat people.
At Family Pool 360, we understood very early that in service industries, reputation is everything. Clients are not only trusting you with a service — they are trusting you with their home, their investment, and their peace of mind. Because of that, we’ve always focused on building relationships based on honesty, professionalism, communication, and accountability.
As immigrants who started from zero, we knew we had to work twice as hard to earn trust and establish credibility within the community. We didn’t grow through flashy marketing or shortcuts. We grew through consistency, referrals, word-of-mouth recommendations, and genuinely caring about the experience our clients had with us.
One thing that has helped us stand out is that we approach business with humanity. We listen to our clients, communicate openly, solve problems quickly, and pay attention to details that many people overlook. We want clients to feel respected, valued, and confident that they can rely on us.
Another important factor has been our visibility and authenticity within the community. Through networking, social media, local events, and relationships, people have been able to connect not only with our company, but with our story and values as a family-owned business. I believe people connect deeply with authenticity, especially today when trust matters more than ever.
We’ve also learned that reputation is not built in one big moment — it is built in small moments repeated consistently over time. Showing up when you say you will, standing behind your work, communicating during challenges, and treating people with integrity eventually creates a reputation stronger than any advertisement.
Being recognized throughout Palm Beach County and earning the trust of our clients is something we are deeply grateful for. More than building a business, we’ve worked hard to build a name that people associate with reliability, care, professionalism, and genuine connection.
