We recently connected with Danielle McGill and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Danielle thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s something crazy on unexpected that’s happened to you or your business
Once during a client’s appointment, she accidentally passed gas after dozing off. It startled her so much that she jumped awake and asked, “I think I farted—can you confirm?” Without missing a beat, I kept working on her lashes and replied, “Fart confirmed.” We both burst into laughter and carried on with the appointment.
Moments like these remind me why I love what I do. Creating a space where clients feel comfortable enough to be themselves—even in slightly embarrassing situations—is incredibly important to me. At SheTime, fostering genuine connection, trust, and a sense of ease is at the heart of every appointment, and it’s those authentic, human moments that turn clients into long-term relationships.

Danielle, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Entrepreneurship has always been a passion of mine, but the true inspiration behind it is my Maltipoo, Bunny. I dreamed of creating a life where “bring your dog to work day” wasn’t just occasional—it was everyday. What started as a series of seemingly random decisions, paired with a bit of luck, led me to pursue my esthetician license. Looking back, those choices weren’t random at all—they guided me toward a career that I genuinely love.
In 2016, I began working at an established salon where I focused on building my skills and growing a loyal clientele. Through consistency, attention to detail, and a commitment to client care, my books quickly filled. Like many in the industry, the pandemic brought everything to a sudden halt. However, when services resumed, my clients gradually returned—many of them demonstrating incredible loyalty and trust, which I will never take for granted.
In 2022, I felt the need for a change of scenery and made the decision to move closer to my mom in Pensacola. With that move came a familiar challenge—starting over and rebuilding my clientele for the third time. While that could feel daunting, each new beginning has strengthened my confidence and refined my approach to growing my business. With every transition, it’s become a little easier, reminding me that genuine connection, consistency, and passion always find their way back to the right clients.
At SheTime, I pride myself on offering a luxury experience at an accessible price point. I believe high-quality service should feel indulgent without being unattainable. Every detail of the client experience is intentional, designed to reflect the level of care and comfort I would want for myself.
Eyelash extensions, to me, are both an art and a science. They are meant to enhance natural beauty—not overpower it. Proper application requires precision, training, and respect for the natural lash. Extensions should never cause damage, and they should never be painful. My approach prioritizes lash health, meticulous technique, and results that feel effortless and beautiful.
More than anything, SheTime is about creating a moment of pause in a busy world—a space where clients can relax, feel cared for, and enjoy a little “me time.” My goal is for every client to leave not only looking their best, but feeling refreshed, confident, and genuinely happy.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Resilience has played a huge role in my journey. During the pandemic, my fully booked schedule disappeared overnight, forcing me to pause everything I had built. When things reopened, rebuilding was slow, and It wasn’t glamorous, but knowing i had done it before kept me moving forward.
In 2022, I moved to Pensacola to be closer to my mom, knowing I’d be starting over for the third time. Each rebuild has come with challenges, but also more confidence. I’ve learned that consistency, adaptability, and genuine connection always bring the right clients back.
That experience showed me that resilience isn’t just pushing through—it’s trusting the process, staying committed, and continuing to show up no matter how many times you have to start again.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Interestingly, the initial funding for my business came from an unexpected situation. Before beginning my lash journey, I was promoted to Department Supervisor for a company that eventually underwent an IRS audit. As a result, I received a lump sum in back pay.
Rather than treating it as extra income, I saw it as an opportunity to invest in myself and take the first step into entrepreneurship. I used those funds to officially launch SheTime, turning what could have been a one-time payout into the foundation of my business. It was a pivotal moment that allowed me to purchase all supplies needed and begin building a clientele, all while fully committing to my own brand.
