Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Alanna Clark. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Alanna, thanks for joining us today. Is there a heartwarming story from your career that you look back on?
One of the most rewarding parts of my career is witnessing the moment someone realizes they have the power to change their health.
I entered the health and wellness field to help people live longer, healthier lives. After initially pursuing premed, I shifted to preventive health following the loss of family members to chronic diseases that could have been prevented. That experience shaped my purpose and led me to public health.
Over the past 10 years. I’ve worked with families and women to build healthier habits. I recall one family that initially felt overwhelmed, but by focusing on small, manageable changes, they gradually gained confidence. What began as uncertainty turned into empowerment, not just for them but for their children as well.
Moments like that, when a “lightbulb” moment occurs, are why I enjoy this work. As a Nutritionist/ Health Educator transitioning into health coaching, I’m passionate about helping people understand that lasting change starts with one small step, and that it is absolutely within their reach.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Alanna M. Clark, and I’m a health and wellness professional with over 10 years of experience in public health, specializing in nutrition education and behavior change. My work is rooted in the belief that everyone deserves the tools and support to live a healthier, more fulfilling life.
After beginning on a pre-med path, I shifted to preventive health following the loss of family members to chronic diseases that could have been prevented. That experience shaped my purpose and led me to public health.
Through my brand, Live by Wellness, I provide health coaching, workshops, and digital resources focused on mindset, movement, and nutrition, primarily for women and families. I help clients move past overwhelm by turning health goals into simple, sustainable habits.
What sets me apart is my ability to combine public health expertise with a compassionate, real-life approach. I focus on progress over perfection, helping clients create routines that are both realistic and enjoyable.
I’m most proud of helping individuals and families take ownership of their health. At its core, Live by Wellness is about empowering lasting change—one small step at a time.
Because true wellness isn’t about perfection—it’s about consistency.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
One of the defining moments of resilience in my journey happened during my college years, when I experienced the loss of a parent just before my senior year. It was a time that could have easily led me to pause or step away, but instead, I leaned into my purpose.
I reminded myself of my “why”, the deeper reason I started, and found the strength to keep going and complete my degree.
That experience taught me that there is true power in staying connected to your purpose, even in life’s most difficult moments.
I carry that same mindset into my work and my business today. Whenever I face challenges, I return to my “why,” which fuels my resilience and keeps me moving forward in my mission to help others live healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Real success isn’t about what you know, it’s about how you make people feel when they trust you with their journey.
Beyond knowledge, success in this field requires a strong connection to purpose, along with patience, empathy, and the ability to create a safe space for others. Having a clear “why” keeps you grounded and motivated, especially during challenging moments.
Equally important is understanding that change takes time. Everyone’s journey is different and people need to feel seen, heard and not judged. You have to meet people where they are. Creating a safe, supportive space allows people to open up, share their experiences and be open and honest about their challenges. That trust is what makes real and lasting change possible.
When you lead with purpose, patience, and compassion, you create an environment where people feel empowered to grow and take meaningful steps toward improving their health.
