We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Berlaine Sanchez a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Berlaine, appreciate you joining us today. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I think one of the biggest risks I’ve ever taken was moving to the United States at 21. I left behind my family, my home, my university studies… everything I knew — and came to a country where I didn’t even speak the language.
Starting over from zero wasn’t easy. I had to take on jobs I never imagined myself doing, adapt quickly, and figure things out on my own. But looking back, that experience really shaped who I am today.
Over time, that same willingness to take risks led me to discover social media. It was another leap of faith — something completely new, without guarantees — but it opened my mind in ways I never expected. It gave me new opportunities and allowed me to build the career I have today.
I truly believe that every risk I’ve taken has pushed me to grow, and that first decision — to leave everything behind — taught me that I’m capable of starting over and creating something meaningful from nothing.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Today, I focus on creating lifestyle, beauty, and wellness content that not only inspires but also connects. I believe my strength lies in my authenticity — I don’t just create content, I share experiences, emotions, and real moments that people can relate to. That’s what allows me to build trust with my audience.
Through my work, I’ve been able to help both individuals and businesses grow. I help brands communicate their message in a way that feels natural and engaging, and I also inspire my audience to elevate their lifestyle, take care of themselves, and explore new opportunities.
One of the things I’m most proud of is building my personal brand from the ground up. I’ve been able to show people who I truly am through my content — not just the highlights, but the journey. And the fact that people connect with that, trust me, and feel inspired by it… that means everything to me.
At the core of everything I do is passion. I genuinely love creating, storytelling, and connecting. It doesn’t feel like work to me — it feels like purpose.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I started building my audience back in 2019, when I first got involved in network marketing. At that time, I didn’t fully understand what it took, but that experience became one of my greatest foundations. It taught me resilience, discipline, and the importance of consistency. I failed many times, I had to learn how to organize myself, stay committed, and most importantly, not give up even when things didn’t go as expected.
Through that journey, I slowly started creating content on social media, at first just for my own growth. But over time, I realized how much I genuinely enjoyed it. It became more than just posting — it became a way for me to express myself creatively and connect with people.
As I continued, I began to expand that creativity beyond myself and started helping businesses grow through content. Being able to communicate a message, inspire others, and reach thousands of people through a screen is something I’m deeply grateful for. It gives me a sense of purpose.
For anyone starting to build their presence on social media, my biggest advice would be to stay consistent and be authentic. Don’t focus too much on perfection — focus on connection. People don’t connect with perfect, they connect with real. And most importantly, don’t give up too soon. Growth takes time, but if you stay committed, it will come.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
There have been many books, authors, podcasts, and creators that have inspired me throughout my journey. I truly believe that growth comes from staying open and constantly learning from different perspectives.
That being said, one book I will always remember with so much appreciation—especially at the beginning of my journey—is How to Win Friends and Influence People. It helped me understand people on a deeper level and taught me the importance of communication, empathy, and genuine connection.
Other books that have also influenced me include The Success Principles, Unfck Yourself*, and The Power of Positive Thinking. Each of them, in different ways, contributed to shaping my mindset and how I approach both life and business.
However, beyond all the books and external resources, one of the most important lessons I’ve learned is that we are not meant to be perfect machines. We don’t have to read every book, follow every rule, or maintain a perfectly strict routine every single day.
What truly matters is focusing on being a good person, staying authentic, being happy, and not causing harm to others. For me, real growth comes from showing up every day with the intention of becoming a better version of myself—little by little, in a way that feels real and sustainable.
