We recently connected with Breanna Jackson and have shared our conversation below.
Breanna, appreciate you joining us today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
If I could go back in time, I would have taken my business more seriously much sooner. I technically started as early as my freshman year of high school in 2009, but at that time it was more of a passion and side hustle than a true business mindset. I had the interest, the vision, and the drive—but not yet the discipline, structure, or confidence to fully commit.
It wasn’t until after I had my son in 2020 that I truly shifted gears and began treating my business like something that could create long-term success. At that point in life, I was navigating new motherhood, working full-time as an Online Pickup & Delivery Team Lead at Walmart, and learning how to balance responsibility, ambition, and family. That season taught me resilience, time management, and the importance of building something of my own.
Looking back, I don’t necessarily regret the timing because every stage taught me valuable lessons. However, I do believe that if I had started with the same level of seriousness earlier, I would be much further ahead today. I spent too much time waiting for the “perfect” moment, when in reality growth comes from starting imperfectly and improving along the way.
Over the last five, almost six years of truly being in business, I’ve learned that success doesn’t come from having everything figured out first—it comes from consistency, adaptability, and learning through experience. If I had embraced that mindset sooner, my journey may have accelerated. But even so, I’m grateful for the path because it built the entrepreneur I am today.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
My name is Breanna, and I am the founder of Foreign Dreamhouse, a luxury hair brand built on quality, confidence, and consistency. My passion for the beauty and hair industry began at a very young age. As a child, I loved getting my hair done, being pampered, and watching the transformation that beauty services could create—not just physically, but emotionally. I remember telling my aunt, who was a hairstylist, that one day I wanted to attend cosmetology school and follow in her footsteps. Even then, I knew I had a natural connection to this industry.
As I got older, I became a customer myself and quickly realized there was a major gap in the market: quality hair that truly lasted. Like many women, I spent money on hair that looked good initially but only lasted one install before needing to be replaced. That frustration led me to start researching vendors and sourcing better products for myself. My journey involved a lot of trial and error, wasted money, buying vendor lists, and learning hard lessons—but eventually I found trusted vendors that met my standards for quality and consistency.
Once I solved the product side, I learned that having great products alone is not enough. Building a successful brand requires strong marketing, content creation, branding strategy, and continuous self-investment. I dedicated myself to learning how to market effectively, create engaging content, and position Foreign Dreamhouse as a premium brand. I strongly believe that if you are not willing to invest in yourself, it is difficult to expect others to invest in you.
Today, Foreign Dreamhouse offers luxury hair extensions, wigs, lashes, wig install kits, and educational resources for aspiring entrepreneurs. I also provide tools such as graphics, vendor resources, and business eBooks to help other women start and grow their own businesses. My goal is not only to sell products, but to empower others through knowledge and opportunity.
The main problem I solve for my clients is reliability and long-term value. My customers deserve hair that lasts through multiple installs, maintains its beauty, and saves them money over time. I provide premium products that deliver convenience, confidence, and versatility—whether someone needs a flawless everyday look or an effortless wear-and-go style.
What truly sets me apart is the level of care I have for my customers. I take quality control seriously, and if I would not personally wear a product, I would never sell it. Customer service is also a major priority for me. If an issue arises, I make it right. Whether that means offering refunds for delays, replacing incorrect orders at my own expense, or simply communicating openly, I believe customers remember how they are treated just as much as the product they receive.
What I am most proud of is building a brand that reflects luxury while still feeling personal and genuine. Foreign Dreamhouse was built through hard work, sacrifice, learning curves, and persistence—and I am proud that it continues to grow.
The main things I want potential clients and supporters to know are:
* I deeply appreciate every customer who chooses to support my brand, especially in today’s economy.
* My clients are valued, and I never take their trust for granted.
* Quality always comes first—luxury products that perform and last.
* We are always learning, improving, and growing, so communication is always welcome.
* Foreign Dreamhouse is more than a hair brand—it is a confidence brand, a lifestyle brand, and a community.
At the heart of everything I do is helping women look good, feel beautiful, and invest in themselves with confidence.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my audience on social media started with understanding that people connect with people before they connect with products. In the early stages of my business, I focused heavily on building a personal brand alongside promoting my company. Instead of only posting products, I shared my journey—hair packaging, order unboxings, install appointments, maintenance routines, and real-life moments using my own products. I became a walking advertisement for my brand, and that authenticity helped build trust with potential customers.
My first customers were those closest to me—my mother, sister, and aunt. From there, growth happened organically through word-of-mouth, repeat business, and consistent visibility online. Over time, I built a loyal customer base that includes both VIP returning clients and first-time shoppers. I value every customer because each purchase contributes to the growth of the brand.
As my audience expanded into new cities, states, and even internationally, I knew I needed to think bigger. I began networking with influencers and public figures who aligned with my brand. At first, I was hesitant and unsure if they would respond, but I learned that opportunities often come from simply asking. I would reach out professionally when they mentioned needing hair or beauty services, and many times they responded quickly. Those connections led to collaborations and promotions with recognizable names such as Kold Killa, Fania Cherry, Hurricane Emery, Emma Alayo, Desi Lynn, and others.
These partnerships created valuable exposure. When influencers posted wearing my hair or using my products, it introduced my brand to new audiences who may have never discovered me otherwise. Their followers would visit my page, explore my website, and often convert into customers. It reinforced the power of strategic networking and choosing collaborations that align with your brand values and target audience.
My biggest advice for anyone starting to build their social media presence is:
1. Stay consistent.
Growth rarely happens overnight. Showing up consistently keeps your brand visible and builds familiarity over time.
2. Understand that everything is content.
Packaging orders, behind-the-scenes moments, customer reviews, tutorials, daily routines, and product use all matter. You do not need elaborate content to make an impact.
3. Build trust through authenticity.
People want to see real results, real experiences, and real passion. Show your audience why they should believe in your brand.
4. Do not wait for perfection.
Many entrepreneurs delay posting because they want everything flawless. It is better to start now and improve as you grow.
5. Network confidently.
Do not be afraid to reach out for collaborations, promotions, or partnerships. Many opportunities are missed simply because people are too afraid to ask.
6. Be intentional with partnerships.
Work with people who genuinely align with your brand, values, and goals so the collaboration benefits both sides.
Social media helped me turn visibility into credibility, and credibility into sales. When used strategically, it can become one of the most powerful tools for building a lasting brand.

How do you keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty?
Maintaining strong relationships with clients and fostering brand loyalty has always been a top priority for me. I believe loyalty is built through communication, consistency, and making every customer feel valued throughout their entire experience.
One of the main ways I stay connected with clients is by keeping them updated throughout the ordering process, especially first-time customers. I provide clear communication regarding order status, shipping progress, and timelines so they always know what to expect. Before orders are packaged and shipped, I often send photos or videos for confirmation to ensure the product meets their expectations and that they feel confident in their purchase.
Customer service has been a major factor in the success of my brand. My experience working in customer-facing leadership roles taught me the importance of professionalism, problem-solving, and creating positive experiences. I apply those same standards to my business every day by being responsive, attentive, and solution-oriented.
I also believe the relationship should not end once the order is delivered. Following up after purchases to request feedback, reviews, and learn about the customer’s experience has been extremely valuable. It not only helps me improve my products and services, but it also shows customers that their opinions matter and that I genuinely care about their satisfaction.
Many clients have shared that they appreciate this level of communication because it is not something they often experience with other brands. That extra attention to detail helps create trust, encourages repeat business, and turns one-time buyers into long-term loyal customers.
Ultimately, I believe brand loyalty comes from making customers feel seen, appreciated, and confident that they will receive quality products and exceptional service every time they shop with us.
