We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kelsey Allmark. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kelsey below.
Hi Kelsey, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
It started because I wanted to attend something like this and couldn’t find it anywhere in Canada.
I’m a huge fantasy nerd—I grew up loving worlds like Lord of the Rings—and I kept wishing there was a space where adults could actually step into that kind of magic. I then decided to build it myself.
My background in events really carried the idea forward. I’d spent 14 years creating immersive, emotional experiences in the wedding industry, so I knew how to design something that felt intentional, elevated, and memorable—not just “themed,” but truly transportive.
It was the combination of those two things—loving fantasy and knowing how to execute events at a high level—that made it work!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Kelsey Allmark, the founder of Faeted Fantasy, an immersive event company creating elevated, story-driven experiences for people who still believe in a little magic.
I spent 14 years in the wedding industry, where I learned how to design meaningful, emotional, and visually beautiful events. Over time, I realized those kinds of experiences were often reserved for weddings—and I wanted to create something just as impactful, but accessible for people simply looking for connection, creativity, and escape.
I’ve always been a fantasy lover—Lord of the Rings, rich worlds, storytelling—so Faeted Fantasy became the intersection of that passion and my event expertise. I originally just wanted to attend something like this myself, and when I couldn’t find it, I helped build it.
Faeted Fantasy stands apart through its focus on immersive storytelling and elevated execution. These aren’t just themed events—they’re carefully designed experiences where every detail contributes to a cohesive, transportive world. From the moment guests arrive, the intention is for them to feel like they’ve stepped into something entirely different.
What I’m most proud of is the community that’s formed around it. People come alone and leave with friends. They feel seen, creative, and part of something bigger—that’s always been the goal.
At its core, Faeted Fantasy exists to give people a place to play, connect, and experience something a little extraordinary.

How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience on social media by focusing less on “growth” and more on creating something people actually wanted to be part of.
In the beginning, I shared the vision behind Faeted Fantasy—what the events would feel like, the atmosphere, the experience—not just what they were. That emotional connection is what drew people in. When people can feel what you’re building, they’re much more likely to follow, engage, and eventually show up.
I also leaned heavily into storytelling and consistency. Even when I didn’t have professional photos or videos yet, I still showed up and talked about the idea, the process, and the excitement behind it. As soon as we had real events, the content naturally became stronger and easier to share.
A big turning point was realizing that community matters more than numbers. Replying to messages, talking to people at events, and making them feel seen created real loyalty—and those people became the foundation of the audience.
My advice for anyone starting is to focus on clarity and connection over perfection. Be clear about what you’re building and who it’s for, and don’t wait until everything looks polished to start sharing. People connect with energy and intention far more than they do with perfectly curated content.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the biggest tests of resilience in my journey came when my business partner stepped away while we still had two major events in motion.
There wasn’t really time to pause—I had to step in and figure out how to carry everything on my own, from logistics to customer experience to execution, while still showing up as if nothing had changed. At the same time, I was balancing my personal life—being a present mom to my son, who is a competitive figure skater, and a partner to my husband who works shift work.
It pushed me in ways I hadn’t experienced before, but it also showed me what I’m capable of. Not only did the events run successfully, but the level of care, detail, and guest experience remained exactly where I wanted it to be.
I’m incredibly proud of what I was able to create during that time. It also gave me clarity on how I want to move forward—shifting the business into a more sustainable model that still holds the same magic, but is built in a way that I can continue to grow it long-term.
