We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Priscilla Saynay a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Priscilla , thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.

When you think about a plant shop, you would think of outdoor, hot and lots of rows of plants. In my shop, I do it very different from what you normally see in a plant shop.

It is an indoor space where your visit will turn into an experience. I filled my space with terrariums, plants and plant arts. It is an experience! It’ll awoken all of your senses. You’ll will be transported to a different space.

The entire space is covered in not only lush and healthy plants from floor to ceiling, you’ll also see many original plant arts that I made. From moss wall, living wall, terrariums and other unusual plant arts. And when you adopted one of our plants, we will provide you with information on how to care for them.

You will feel welcome, recharge and definitely happy when you’ll visit us!

Priscilla , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

After spending decades in the corporate world, I have decided to follow my heart and passion full time. I love to create and I love plants, especially moss! On August 5th 2021, I opened my brick and mortar shop. I stepped after doing it from home and markets for a few years before.

I want to create a safe space for everyone to learn about plants, I love to answer about any plants related questions. I always find out about each person’s plant journey and to help them find the right plants that will fit their skill level, space and lifestyle.

I love to spread my love of plants and offering several many classes where everyone could learn about plants. From terrarium class or mounted plants. I will share all of my knowledge and you will go home with confidence, ready to create more in your own space. Last month I put together a Houseplant Care 101 for free. Sharing is caring! And building a green community is always a plus in my book.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

I believe in integrity and customer service. I always run my business with kindness and my love to share my passion. When you love and passionate about your works, people can see and feel it! I always takes my time to answers any questions that people will have about their purchase. People love to visit my shop because the experience they will get and looking at my plant arts. I love to create an unusual take on my plant arts.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?

After working in a big corporate world for a few decades, I started to feel unhappy and feel that something is really missing from my life.

At that time, I have been honing my skill in terrariums and selling by words of mouth. I also starting to participate in local markets.

I heard about the upcoming retail location in my area and decided to check it out. And I never look back since! I may not make nearly as much as when I’m working in my corporate world, but I’m way happy and satisfied with my life.
