We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kerri Paizzi. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kerri below.
Kerri, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
Most of the time I’m very happy to be a business owner. I own three companies, Flavor South Florida, Monarch Marketing and Design, and Monarch Music. Each one challenges me in a different way and the growth and evolution of each have been challenging yet so rewarding. Flavor South Florida is South Florida’s restaurant that spans through Palm Beach County and The Treasure Coast incentivizing dinners to patron local restaurants in the month of September, which is our slowest month of the year. Monarch Marketing and Design is a full service marketing agency which I founded in 2018 with one client and have grown it substantially since. Day to day, we manage social media accounts for businesses, Google Business pages, SEO, create and implement marketing strategies, amongst other marketing facets. Monarch Music is a company that books local and national acts for anyone from a bar/restaurant to country clubs, weddings, and festivals. I love that I’m able to help other’s grow their brands so to that note, I’m happy I don’t work a regular 9-5 anymore. I work more hours now than a 40 hour work week but I do it out of passion and I don’t think I’d have it any other way.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve always been drawn to storytelling and creating meaningful connections, which is what ultimately led me into my work. My path wasn’t completely linear… I explored different creative and business spaces before realizing that what I truly love is helping people and brands articulate who they are in a way that feels authentic and impactful. That intersection of creativity and strategy is where I’ve found my niche. I’m really good at connection people.
Through my work, I provide a mix of creative and strategic services designed to help individuals and businesses stand out, connect with their audience, and grow with intention. Whether it’s shaping a brand’s voice, developing ideas, or bringing a vision to life, I focus on creating work that not only looks good but actually resonates and drives results. I’m especially passionate about helping people clarify their message and feel confident in how they show up.
What sets me apart is my ability to blend creativity with a deep understanding of people. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Everything I do is thoughtful, tailored, and rooted in genuine collaboration. I take the time to really understand my clients, their goals, and their audience, which allows me to create work that feels aligned and intentional rather than forced.
What I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built with the people I work with and the impact of the work we create together. Seeing someone feel more confident in their brand or watching an idea come to life in a way that truly represents them is incredibly rewarding.
At the end of the day, I want people to know that my work is about more than just the final product… it’s about creating something meaningful, building strong relationships, and helping people step into their vision with clarity and confidence. At the end of the day, you can’t pay people to care, and I care.

Have you ever had to pivot?
In marketing there’s a lot of pivoting… and I mean A LOT. When I first started my marketing company it was primarily Facebook being utilized as the main social media platform. It was static photos and Facebook groups. Fast forward, we are now in a world of short form videos, AI, and multiple social media platforms. I’ve definitely had to pivot and navigate through that over the years. I never anticipated the video aspect of things and having to shoot and edit videos as part of my daily duties, but here we are – you navigate, sometimes that’s what you have to do. As for the AI aspect, it’s not going anywhere so your only other choice is to learn it, utilize it, and embrace it or else you’ll hit a brick wall and get frustrated.

How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I’m a dollar and a dream kinda girl. I am a huge believer of giving anything a chance but you have to put your all in to actually give it the honest chance it deserves. When I started Monarch Marketing and Design I had some money saved up in the bank to float me and pay my bills but the clients weren’t guaranteed – I had to work for them and work hard to not only get them, but prove my worth to keep them. It all grew from there. When I purchased Flavor South Florida from the founder, I dipped into my savings account and rolled the dice. I don’t like to spend money I don’t have and the time wasn’t interested in bringing partners or investors into either. Not to say I wouldn’t consider that in the future if it made sense to do so, but typically I’d like to try things on my own and with the means I have.
