We recently connected with Radka Desenská and have shared our conversation below.
Radka, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you tell us about an important lesson you learned in school and why that lesson is important to you?
One of the most impactful lessons I learned during school came from my studies in social work, where I was in direct contact with people facing very different and often difficult life situations.
I remember sitting with individuals whose stories completely shifted my perspective. In those moments, it stopped being about theory or textbooks – it became real. I learned how important it is to truly listen, without judgment, and to be present for someone even when you can’t “fix” their situation.
That experience taught me that the most meaningful things in life aren’t material or external achievements, but human connection, empathy, and understanding. It grounded me and helped me redefine what success really means.
This lesson has stayed with me ever since. It influences how I communicate, how I approach relationships, and even how I show up in my professional life today. No matter where I am or what I’m doing, I carry that awareness of people’s stories and the importance of kindness with me.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m originally from the Czech Republic, where I studied social work – a path that deeply shaped how I see people, connection, and the world. During that time, I’ve completed two programs simultaneously, earning two degrees in Social Work. Looking back, it’s something I’m truly grateful for and proud of, as it reflects my determination and commitment to personal growth.
After finishing my studies, I made a bold decision to move to the United States on my own, which became one of the most transformative experiences of my life.
My journey has never been strictly linear. I’ve worked across different environments, from social care to my current role in the insurance industry, while also building a strong presence in social media and content creation. Over time, I realized that what truly sets me apart is my ability to combine creativity with sharing emotions – I don’t just create content, I create feeling, atmosphere, and connection.
Through my work, I focus on storytelling, visual aesthetics, and authenticity. Whether it’s photography, lifestyle content, or collaborations, my goal is to make people feel something – inspired, seen, or simply more present in their own lives.
I believe what I offer goes beyond just visuals. I bring a unique perspective shaped by cultural transitions, independence, and real-life experiences. I understand people, their emotions, and what resonates with them – and that translates into content that feels genuine rather than forced.
What I’m most proud of is building everything from the ground up while staying true to myself. Growing a community, navigating life in a new country, and continuously evolving both personally and professionally has taught me resilience, adaptability, and trust in my own path.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the moments that truly shaped my resilience was the decision to leave my home country, the Czech Republic, and move to the United States completely on my own.
At the time, I had just finished my studies in social work, where I had pushed myself academically – even completing two degrees simultaneously. From the outside, everything looked stable and “on track,” but internally, I felt a strong pull to step outside of my comfort zone and create a life that felt more aligned with who I was becoming.
Starting over in a new country came with uncertainty, loneliness, and moments of doubt. I had to rebuild everything from scratch – my environment, my sense of stability, and even parts of my identity. There were times when things didn’t go as planned, when I questioned my decisions, and when the easier option would have been to go back.
But I didn’t.
Instead, I learned how to adapt, how to trust myself, and how to keep moving forward even without having all the answers. Over time, I built a new life, developed new skills, and found confidence in my ability to navigate the unknown.
That experience taught me that resilience isn’t about having everything figured out – it’s about showing up for yourself, again and again, even when things feel uncertain.
Today, that mindset influences everything I do. Whether in my professional life or creative work, I carry that inner strength with me – knowing that I can handle change, grow through challenges, and create opportunities wherever I am.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Looking back on my creative journey, I don’t think there was just one specific resource I was missing – it was more about a shift in perspective.
Early on, I thought I needed more tools, more structure, or a clear step-by-step path. But over time, I realized that the most valuable “resources” were actually experiences – being present, exploring new places, and allowing myself to fully feel and observe the world around me.
Traveling and spending time in nature have played a huge role in shaping my creativity. Some of my biggest inspiration doesn’t come from screens or trends, but from real moments – a quiet sunrise, the energy of a new city, or simply slowing down enough to truly notice what’s around me.
I do wish I had understood earlier that creativity isn’t something you force – it’s something you allow. When I stopped trying to follow what I thought I “should” be doing and started trusting my own rhythm and intuition, everything began to flow more naturally.
If anything, I wish I had known sooner that stepping away – going outside, traveling, disconnecting – is not losing time, but actually where the most meaningful ideas are born.
That perspective continues to guide my work today. I create from a place of experience, emotion, and presence – not just inspiration, but lived moments.
