We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Angie Misailidou. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Angie below.
Angie , appreciate you joining us today. Can you recount a story of an unexpected problem you’ve faced along the way?
One of the most unexpected problems I’ve faced in my creative journey is definitely time management. Being both an artist and a student is very challenging, you have lots of homework, need to stay on top of your musical growth, take care of yourself, and maintain a social life. I can’t imagine how much harder it must be for even more successful artists out there. I’m still figuring out how to balance everything, and one thing I’ve realized is that I can’t do everything perfectly at once, so I follow my gut and focus on one or two things each day. I recently experienced how hard this can be when I started working on my EP while still in school. As an independent artist, I have to organize and manage everything myself, while also keeping up with school. At one point, I found myself pushing so hard that I felt nauseous, and it hit me that nothing is more important than my health. Since then, I’ve learned to take a step back when I need to, pace myself, and prioritise both my well-being and my creative goals.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
I’m Angie, a Greek independent artist making pop and R&B that blends emotion, energy, and personal stories. I write, produce, and perform all of my own music, and I’m getting ready to release my first EP soon. My songs reflect experiences that matter most to me such as love, growth, struggles, and the little moments that shape life, and I hope they connect with anyone who listens. I’m also a full-scholarship student at Berklee College of Music, which has been an amazing opportunity to grow as a musician while balancing school and my creative projects. It’s taught me focus, resilience, and how to turn real-life experiences into music that feels authentic. I’m excited to share my songs with the world and see how they resonate with people.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I think the most rewarding part of being an artist is the music and the listeners. It’s incredible to create something, put so much work and love into it, and then have a tangible version of your song. It makes me emotional just thinking about it. Being able to share how I feel and communicate that through music, and most importantly, having an impact on the audience is what made me fall in love with it from the start. Even when I’m doing covers, seeing someone react positively makes me feel so happy and grateful that I was given this talent and can make people feel something through me. It’s just something so special.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Not necessarily something I wish I knew earlier, but I think people often forget how important teachers and mentors are. Nowadays, especially with AI, it’s so easy to get a quick answer to a problem, but there are things the internet could never teach you. I’ve had so many teachers who inspired me to become better at what I do and pushed me to be the best version of myself. The guidance, feedback, and conversations you have with mentors are invaluable and can make a huge difference in your career. Don’t sleep on your professors, kids!
