We recently connected with Tiffany Bekx and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tiffany , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Lunar Quill Revelries didn’t start as a business idea. It started as a feeling I couldn’t shake.
For most of my life, I’ve been someone who loved stories deeply. Books, fantasy worlds, dressing up, stepping into something magical. It always lit something up in me. But outside of things like Renaissance Faires or Halloween, there wasn’t really a space for adults to live inside those worlds in an intentional, immersive way. And if there was, it often required travel or didn’t feel accessible or welcoming to go to alone.
In 2024, I discovered fantasy balls, and it felt like everything clicked into place. These events were exactly what I had been craving. But as quickly as I fell in love with the idea, I realized the reality. The only ones I could find were on the East or West Coasts or already sold out. For so many people, myself included at times, that just isn’t feasible. Whether it’s kids, finances, or life in general, it puts the experience out of reach.
About two years ago, I also hit a moment where I realized I was holding myself back. I was worried about what people would think, showing up dressed up, leaning into something whimsical or theatrical. And then I decided… I didn’t care anymore. I went anyway.
And what I found was that I wasn’t alone.
There were so many people craving the same thing. Community, creativity, connection, and a reason to step out of their everyday lives for a night and become someone else. But there wasn’t anything local that truly brought all of those elements together in a cohesive, elevated way.
That’s where the idea for Lunar Quill Revelries was born.
Not just to create beautiful events, but to make this kind of magic accessible. To bring immersive, story-driven experiences to Wisconsin so people don’t have to travel across the country to find something that makes them feel like they belong.

Tiffany , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Hi, I’m Tiffany, the founder of Lunar Quill Revelries. I’m a Wisconsin-based event creator, photographer, and marketer with a deep love for storytelling and community-building.
I didn’t take a traditional path into this space. My background is actually in marketing, where I’ve spent over 15 years helping businesses grow, connect with their audiences, and create meaningful brand experiences. Alongside that, I built a photography business focused on weddings and families, which really deepened my understanding of how to capture emotion, moments, and connection in a tangible way.
But at the core of everything I’ve done has always been the same thread—storytelling.
That’s what ultimately led me to create Lunar Quill Revelries.
After discovering fantasy balls and realizing there was nothing like that locally, I saw an opportunity to blend all of my skills into something truly unique. I wasn’t just creating events. I was building immersive, story-driven experiences where guests could step into a different world for a night.
What I create now are immersive fantasy events that combine elements of live performance, interactive storytelling, and social experiences. Think elegant balls, themed gatherings, bookish events, and curated markets, all designed to make guests feel like they are part of something magical rather than just attending another event.
But beyond the aesthetic, what I’m really creating is connection.
A lot of people in the bookish and fantasy space are looking for community. They want to meet people who share their interests, but it can feel intimidating to show up alone or not know where you fit in. My events are intentionally designed to break down those barriers. Through immersive elements, quests, cast interactions, and shared experiences, people naturally connect without it feeling forced.
That’s one of the biggest problems I’m solving—creating a space where people feel like they belong.
Another is accessibility. So many immersive fantasy events exist, but they’re often limited to major cities or require significant travel. By bringing these experiences to the Midwest, I’m opening the door for people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to participate.
What sets Lunar Quill Revelries apart is the level of intention behind every detail. These aren’t just themed parties. Every event has a narrative backbone, characters, interactive elements, and carefully curated environments that allow guests to fully step into the story. At the same time, I balance that immersion with approachability. You don’t have to be a hardcore cosplayer or know all the lore to feel comfortable walking in.
I’m most proud of the community that’s formed around these events.
Watching someone come in nervous, maybe attending alone, and then seeing them leave with new friends, confidence, and a sense of belonging is something I’ll never get tired of. That transformation is everything to me.
I also take a lot of pride in how I support other creatives. My events regularly feature local authors, artists, performers, and small businesses, giving them a platform to share their work and connect with new audiences. Building something that uplifts not just attendees, but other creators in the community, has been incredibly important to me.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about Lunar Quill Revelries, it’s this:
You don’t have to wait for magic to exist somewhere else.
You can step into it right here…and you don’t have to do it alone.

How did you build your audience on social media?
As a professional marketer, I knew the first thing I had to do was curate my algorithms.
From the beginning, I intentionally searched for and engaged with Wisconsin and Midwest-based bookstagrammers, booktok creators, local bookstores, and indie authors. That’s the community I wanted to build, so I made sure my content and engagement reflected that. Social media isn’t just about posting, it’s about training the platform to understand who you’re for.
From there, I focused on connection over perfection. I showed up consistently, engaged with people, responded to comments, and built real relationships instead of just broadcasting content.
I also leaned heavily into storytelling. Instead of just promoting events, I created intrigue, shared behind-the-scenes moments, and made people feel like they were stepping into something bigger. Content that evokes emotion and makes people think “I want to be there” is what really drives growth.
My biggest advice is to be intentional about your audience, engage more than you post, and don’t wait until everything is perfect to start. Focus on building a community, not just a following.

Any thoughts, advice, or strategies you can share for fostering brand loyalty?
For me, it comes down to connection and consistency.
I stay in touch through social media and email, but I use both to bring people into the experience, not just promote events. Behind-the-scenes content, character reveals, and post-event moments help keep the story going.
I also prioritize direct engagement. Responding to comments and messages helps people feel seen and valued.
At the events themselves, I focus on creating an experience where people feel welcomed and included. That emotional connection is what keeps them coming back.
And I listen. Feedback shapes future events, so people can see they’re part of something that’s evolving with them.
