We were lucky to catch up with Celeste Robinette recently and have shared our conversation below.
Celeste, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
When I was a child, I had music all around me. There was never a time I wasn’t surrounded by music, I’ve always loved it. I wanted a guitar as a child, but I never got one (at that time), instead, I ended up getting a ukulele at one point. I never learned how to play it correctly, and I would always try to play it like a guitar. It eventually got broken, and I didn’t get another musical instrument until my 14th birthday when I got my first drum set. Before this, I got really infatuated with the drums and I would use two pencils, hitting them on the couches like they were a drum set. When I finally got one, I started slowly learning and I got better. Eventually, I got a second drum set but it got harder to play more consistently with people around because of how loud it was. So, one Christmas, I switched to an electronic drum set that I still use to this day with recordings and practice.

Hello, my name is Celeste. I’m a drummer in a rock band called “The New Serpents”, I started being a part of the band back in 2022 and have been with them ever since. I’m most proud of the music we’ve made together and the closeness we have as a band.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
We mostly want to get our music out there for people to hear. We want to make it big and become successful one day.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding part of being a musician is seeing people enjoy our music and people giving us good feedback on the songs we make.
