Shauna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

Do It Vegan was created on the idea that many new vegans or transitioning vegans found it challenging to recreate their favorite dishes without any animal products. Our initial goal was to create a platform where anyone could go to find vegan friendly replacements for all recipes including alternatives for milk, butter, eggs, etc.. This idea led us to also create vegan deli meats and paninis to offer some delicious plant based foods at events. We also got licensed to grow and cultivate CBD which aligned great with our mission to provide healthier alternatives in a variety of ways. CBD is a beautiful medicine that helps thousands with pain, anxiety, depression and so many other ailments. It was a beautiful business integration. Next in our business evolution was the inclusion of frequency work with tools such as orgonite EMF protectors, crystal bowl sound baths, raw crystal and crystal jewelry along with reiki. We wanted to provide a one stop shop where everyone could come and feel all the good vibes and love and leave with a smile. The food portion of our business took a step back which launched our partner company called Dharma’s Calling where we focus mainly on all our frequency work as mentioned above. We are still passionate about our food and Do It Vegan still makes appearances at various events you can find both businesses on Instagram to find out when we will be serving food or representing our crystals and orgonite, either way good vibes are ALWAYS free!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

We are a family owned business run by myself and my fiancé Chris. We have 5 children and we believe in leading by example in all aspects of life. That belief lead us to healthier eating habits, creating our own bath care products, aligning with yoga and crystal work and overall healthy physical and mental wellbeing. We wanted to help show others that healthy living is not only possible with children, but could be fairly easy once you got comfortable with it.

As far as our crystal and frequency work, my father began mining crystals over 10 years ago and would send us beautiful crystals constantly. We began making jewelry for our family with them and realized we had many extra that we would giveaway to friends initially. This later evolved into jewelry and orgonite making for our business. As I studied the power of crystals and orgonite I wanted to provide tools for others to use to also protect themselves and the ones they love from the constant attack from the frequency released from WIFI, electricity, cell phones, etc. I actually use an EMF reader to test all my orgonite devices to allow me to see their effectiveness and distance of protection. As I continued studying frequency work I got various certifications in crystal bowl sound baths, tuning forks, and reiki.

We got into growing CBD because of the many toxic pharmaceutical companies that surround us. We wanted to provide our family with healthy medicine and the community with something they could trust. We play music for our plants, say positive words, and treat them with all the love. We are tested and regulated by the state of Florida and handle everything from start to finish. No machines touch our CBD ladies.

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

When our business started Chris and I both had consistent day jobs. Chris works for a local news station as a graphic designer and I was an elementary school teacher and local artist. These jobs allowed us to fund our passions and build a foundation which later gave me an opportunity to resign from education. Currently my sole source of income is our business with the goal to continue to build and hopefully shortly allow Chris to resign as well so we can continue to build and provide a safe healthy space for all who want to visit.

We’d really appreciate if you could talk to us about how you figured out the manufacturing process.

We make all of our orgonite products, shirts, roll trays, “meats” and various other items. We take pride in our creations and have studied for years to ensure our products are safe and effective for all. I use the homegrown CBD leaves in our roll trays and teas. I use various metals and crystals in our orgonite to ensure they are effective tools, not just beautiful art. Chris has been harnessing his seitan recipes for 4 years now perfecting them to be able to offer a delicious “meat” alternative to our community. We want everyone to love what we create and even if you just come and visit our booth to say hi and share in a conversation that is a gift in itself.
