Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Rebecca Lira. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Rebecca, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
One of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on was building Cupid Content Co. from the ground up.
This wasn’t just a logo or a quick visual refresh — it was a fully custom, start-to-finish brand experience. We built everything: the strategy, the identity, hand-drawn brand elements, the website, social media graphics, creative direction for her shoot, brand photography, and even the print collateral. Every single touchpoint was intentional.
What made this project so meaningful to me is that it was the moment Studio Atelier really clicked into what we are known for today.
Up until that point, I had always believed that strategy should lead design, but this was the first project where I got to fully execute that belief across an entire brand ecosystem. We weren’t just designing something beautiful. We were building a brand that communicated clearly with her audience.
And because of that, everything felt cohesive. The visuals, the messaging, the experience — it all worked together. Nothing felt disconnected or “just for aesthetics.”
That project showed me, in real time, the level of transformation that happens when a brand is built with clarity and intention at every touchpoint. It didn’t just elevate her business — it redefined how she showed up, how she was perceived, and who she attracted.
And honestly, it redefined me too.
It solidified my role not just as a designer, but as a strategist — someone who builds brands that are meant to be understood and remembered.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your background and context?
Hi, I’m Becca and I’m the founder of Studio Atelier, a brand and website design studio rooted in strategy, storytelling, and intentional design.
I’ve been running Studio Atelier since 2021, but I’ve been a business owner for much longer than that. I graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a BA in Graphic Design, and even back then, I knew I wanted to build something of my own. After college, I spent a few years working in-house for different companies, which gave me a strong foundation — but I always felt pulled toward creating something more personal, more intentional. In 2021, I took the leap into running my business full time, and Studio Atelier really grew from there.
Today, we provide brand strategy, brand identity design, website design, and brand photography, but more than that, we build brands that are meant to be remembered. Everything we do is rooted in clarity. We’re not here to just make something look good — we’re here to make sure it resonates.
A lot of our clients come to us feeling like their brand doesn’t fully reflect where they’re at anymore. Maybe they’ve outgrown it, maybe it feels disconnected, or maybe it’s just not attracting the right people. What we do is step in and build a brand that actually aligns — with their vision, their audience, and the direction they’re trying to grow into.
What sets us apart is how deeply we prioritize strategy. That’s the foundation of everything we create. Before we ever touch design, we’re thinking about positioning, messaging, audience, and experience. Because at the end of the day, visuals don’t build a brand — clarity does. The design just brings it to life.
Something I’m really proud of is the level of thought and intention we bring into every project. It’s not surface-level. It’s layered, it’s strategic, and it’s built to last. I’m also incredibly proud of the relationships I’ve built within the creative industry over the few years — the community, the collaborations, the trust. That’s been one of the most meaningful parts of this journey.
And honestly, I’m really proud of the team we’re building. Each person brings something different to the table, and seeing all of those strengths come together to create something cohesive and elevated for our clients has been such a defining part of Studio Atelier’s growth.
If there’s one thing I want people to know about my work, it’s this: we don’t just design brands for today. We build brands that are meant to carry you forward — clearly, confidently, and with intention.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the biggest lessons I had to unlearn was the idea that I needed to say yes to everything.
In my first year of business, I said yes to every project that came my way. Every inquiry, every budget, every type of client — I took it on because I thought that’s what you were supposed to do. I told myself I needed the experience, the portfolio, the momentum.
But in reality, it started doing the opposite.
Because I was saying yes to everything, I wasn’t clear on anything. My work felt scattered, my messaging wasn’t defined, and I wasn’t attracting the kind of clients I actually wanted to work with. I was building a business, but not a brand.
The lesson I had to unlearn was that more = better. It doesn’t.
What actually changed everything for me was realizing that boundaries are what create alignment. The more specific I got about who I serve, what I offer, and what I don’t take on — the stronger my business became.
Now, I see boundaries as a strategy, not a limitation. They protect the quality of the work, the client experience, and the direction of the brand as a whole.
And honestly, that shift is what allowed Studio Atelier to grow into what it is today — a brand that’s known for something, not just available for everything.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Absolutely. My ultimate goal with Studio Atelier is to create a space where the creative community can truly understand the importance of building a brand — not just a business.
Business isn’t meant to be built alone. There are so many moving parts to it, and without clarity, it’s easy to feel stuck or disconnected from the direction you’re trying to grow in. Through community events, workshops, and online masterminds, our goal is to create a space where creatives can come together, learn, and actually thrive — not just get by.
Because at the end of the day, the brand you build is what attracts the audience you’re meant to work with. It’s what communicates your value, your perspective, and your point of view before you ever get on a call or make a sale.
That’s why this mission matters so much to me. I want creatives to build brands that resonate — brands that feel aligned, intentional, and clear — so they can grow with confidence and attract the right people naturally. Choosing a creative career shouldn’t mean automatic struggle, and I want Studio Atelier to be the brand that breaks that stigma.
