Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Humza Arif. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Humza, thanks for joining us today. Is there a heartwarming story from your career that you look back on?
The healthcare environment and landscape has certainly evolved throughout the years that makes it difficult for the provider-patient relationship to be established. Patients realize that office visits have become shorter and shorter throughout the years but when the vision began for kliniko, the team realized we were not operating a 9 to 5 organization. A heartwarming story from my career that I constantly remember and look back on is when my team spent several hours with a patient to get the work done. She felt heard, seen and understood. I remembered how surprised she was with the attention to detail in her healthcare experience. Afterwards, she looked me in the eyes and that provider-patient trust that is so special to us was literally tangible. The team at kliniko knew we made the right choice for our mission and values as an organization because of that moment. Many like it followed thereafter and it continues to reinforce our reason for operating.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Dr. Humza Arif. I am a cosmetic and restorative dentist with a no-limits passion for fashion, architecture and design. The culmination of experience within the arts of these areas has prompted the evolution of a healthcare experience through kliniko. Patients of kliniko indulge in a healthcare environment that brings healthcare and the world of arts together. To begin with oral health, kliniko has been able to forge bespoke treatment options and therapies that optimize oral health. Certainly we are changing the world of dentistry and health altogether. An appointment request is an invitation to experience it and the various medical specialities that will follow.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Coming up in my dental training, there has always been a set mold to follow. Being an enthusiast of the fashion and arts industry, this mold went against the grain of creativity and expression and I knew that the world of medicine was worse off without it. Unlearning the mold and patterns of what it means to go to the doctor/dentist had to completely be revamped. If you ask others, all will tell you a version of the same pattern of what it means to visit the dentist or doctor. We wanted to break that run-of-the-mill experience. This completely restarted and reignited the passion for what kliniko is and will continue to evolve. Here we have a space for not only clinical expression of oral health and wellness but also an experience into architecture and design. Miami was a special place for the start of kliniko as the city embraces all of these concepts. Merging them has never been done. By unlearning the mold of previous healthcare entities has allowed for the best of artistic expression and unsurpassed health.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Genuineness. We at kliniko are healthcare professionals with a passion and love for architecture, fashion, art and design. The patient experience is our experience and our genuine passion for it is seen in everything that we do. Working towards perfection within our craft in a genuine and real way has made the patient-provider relationship real again. This is what we do and our clients feel the love and support we have for them on their healthcare journey. It really is as simple as that.
